Ironically, GS has the most bandwagon fans in sports currently, but none have trickled into this thread in the last two years. Green could've easily injured Adams shoulder with that takedown. I despise him more with each series cause it's more then just playing hard with him. My brain says GS in 7, but my heart says Cle in 6.

I have to admit, I haven't seen that play. Has Green always played this way? I wonder if he is just embracing the a-hole "role" and just pushing it as far as he can. I watched a lot of the finals last year and don't remember him doing this kind of stuff then and I don't remember too many highlights this year. It seems to be largely magnified in the playoffs.

If Cleveland doesn't beat GS in the Finals, we just may have to accept this GS team is the greatest NBA team of all time...73 win regular season...coming back from a 3-1 deficit...winning the championship...it would be tough to argue otherwise.

And one thing...IF Kevin Durant leaves, there is NO WAY he can go to Golden State as multiple reports were surmising earlier this season. As much crap as Lebron got when he left Cleveland for Miami, he didn't jump to a team that beat him and prevented him from getting to the Finals. Durant would be pilloried if he went to GS.

Nope Durant won't get anything close to what Lebron did when went to Miami. Fist he wouldnt have been the first to do so that softens the blow. Second he didnt nickname himself the King. Third he didnt leave his hometown in a very very bad way. People will say some bad things but it will be not even 1% of the hate Lebron got.

I didn't say anything about KD getting more heat than Lebron did if KD signed with GS. :dunno I was just saying that Lebron didn't leave to go to either Boston or Orlando, both teams that beat him in the ECF. If KD signed with GS, he be subscribing to the "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" adage.

Also, are you certain that he went ahead and nicknamed himself "the King"? Serious question. A lot of people who dislike Lebron point to his nicknames "The King", "The Chosen One" as evidence of his ego/arrogance, but by all reports/indications...it was Ohio media that nicknamed him in high school.

I like Curry a lot, and have been a casual Golden State fan since the early '90s when they had Chris Mullen, Mitch Richmond, and Tim Hardaway. But I'm also without ESPN/cable, and don't follow sports very closely anymore, so I may be missing whatever it is their fanbase is doing.

Never liked Lebron and still don't, and for that reason alone I'll root against his team just about every time. But I agree with the comment above about Cleveland. Those guys deserve their moment of glory, just like New Orleans did in 2009. So, I won't be upset, no matter who wins this year.

I can't recall because I never payed attention to him before.

Funny because that was probably the reason they lost game 6. That fourth quarter was pretty terrible for them on offense especially.

yep. If Ibaka didn't commit another WTF foul for OKC last night, they might have pulled it off though

Yeah, I don't know if I would go so far as calling this GS team GOAT. The league isn't what it used to be. IMO, basketball was a different game back in the day and there were a tremendous amount of stud players back in the day. You had MJ, Bird, Isiah, Barkley, Malone, Magic, Olajuwon, Ewing, Pippen, Stockton, Robinson, Drexler, Shaq (early in his career), and Parish just to name some of the studs back in the day. Who do we have today that can match those players? Not to mention all of the new rules regarding defensive fouls. Can you imagine if the list of players I mentioned got to play in today's NBA and they couldn't be touched when they have the ball in their hands? Besides, GOAT teams don't put themselves in a 3-1 hole to begin with. I think GS is a great team but I wouldn't go so far as to call them the greatest of all time. The road to the Finals is far easier today than it was 25 years ago. Hell, I even think the Lakers and Spurs teams with Kobe and Duncan in their heyday are better than this GS team. 70+ wins in this era ain't what it used to be. Saying that, I still give a lot of credit to this GS team. 73 wins isn't easy in any era and they can only play the teams that are on their schedule in today's NBA.

My user name lists my birth year, so I grew up watching all the players you mentioned. I totally agree that the game has changed dramatically. Players from that previous era were better fundamentally, as you had players that stayed four years in college, and with less teams, the Association wasn't as diluted as it is today.

I did consider that GOAT teams don't put themselves in 3-1 holes as well...but the argument could be made that GOAT teams do win three straight out and become only the 10th team to come back from a 3-1 hole.

I'm simply saying based on the objective data available (73 win regular season, coming back from a 3-1 hole in the WCF, defending and repeating as Champs [if they do of course]), the argument is there.

Once curry loses his knees, he will lose his edge. Jordan was the all-time great. Gs will probably have a run like the Detroit pistons did years back. They eventually will age and part ways. Lakers going after Curry and Westbrook.

If GS wins the title this year, I think you can make an argument for possible the best 2 year run of any team in NBA history:lol Now if they somehow win next year, then yes, no question, they HAVE to be in the conversation for the best team of all time.

The best ever is such a poor term. The game has changed so much over the years it's never a 1:1 comparison nor close enough to make a valid comparison. Skills have changed, way the game is played has changed etc. Curry and co. wouldn't be as dynamic back in the 80's when players held, knocked the crap outta one another etc. just like some of those teams wouldn't make it in today's NBA. To recognize them for 2 or 3 in a row for their generation is valid but I hate "all time" comparisons...I don't find it relevant.

Agreed. The game was so much more physical back then and you could get away with so much more on defense. Could you imagine the Bad Boy Pistons playing their style of D in this era? :lol

Sorry, but Jordan would eat Curry's lunch

Jordan would eat everyone's lunch in this era. Since the rules wouldn't allow opposing players to touch Jordan he'd probably average 50 a game. How the hell would anyone stop him? He'd be able to get to the front of the rim at will and his fade away became lethal as he got older. Players today just don't match up as well against the Legends of the game. Curry is still a great player. He's so clutch in big games and he's entertaining as hell to watch but IMO, Bron is still the best player in the game today.
