Who will represent the WC in the Finals next year if Durant doesn’t play

Houston?
OKC?

I have a feeling Toronto will be back in the finals next year

Depends if Kawhi leaves to the Clipps? If he doesn't, Lakers will go all in for AD and could easily win the west with Kuzma, AD and Lebron. This will be the last year Lebron has a chance to win a title with GS badly wounded for next season. OKC and Hou will continue to underachieve like they always do because of Westbrook and Harden.

Curry didn’t play like a 2X regular season MVP.

when has he ever been in the playoffs? Klay and KD are the obvious 2 clutch guys on the team and they won't have them next year. Sad for Klay, but at least we will see a new WC champ next season.

I actually think the Warriors will be fine. They will lose Durant and Cousins, get some role player depth and probably be right back in the western conf finals next year. Having Draymon, Steph, and Klay will get you far if you have some solid supporting cast. As for Kawhi, regardless of what happens, for now, he is officially the best Raptor of all time:lol I don't care if it was just one year, he did it all. Now, If I could just get Anthony Davis traded to the Lakers and keep Kuz, I'll be a very excited Lakers fan...though I would also take Bradley Beal if we can keep Kuz and either Lonzo/or 4th pick/or Ingram.

Klay is done for the year. Opens the door back up for Lakers and Spurs. Nuggets will be the team to beat in the West though if they stay healthy. Jazz will be very good again too. I have 0 faith in OKC or Houston. They are very overrated. Just glad GSW are done. I was sick of seeing them.

Did you hear about Ujiri ( Raptors GM) striking a Security officer after Raptors won last night

The guard claimed he didn’t know who Masai was :horror

Times a changing folks

Both Expansion teams are champions in the NBA

Don’r forget about Dirk and the Mavericks

I’m confused by you “both expansion teams” comment. Raptors and Heat are the two modern expansion teams that have a title.

Twolves, Grizzlies, Hornets, Pelicans, zero titles.

If we include teams like the Mavs who joined before 1980, the list of expansion teams with no title gets larger.

Warriors bench needs help

Livingston, Bogut, Cook need to be traded

Livingston may retire, I hope he stays. Bogut is great if he’s cheap (he may do what he did this year and join the Warrior at the end of the season for the playoffs). Cook is a good bench player, just small and vulnerable on D. Warriors bench is solid, if healthy. The issue this year is that bench players had to start in the playoffs due to injuries.

Klay could be back by March. So he could be back a month before the playoffs. I’d argue that it’s more likely that the Warriors return with their core next year due to injuries now. Who knows if they’ll be in a position to win anything though.

It will be interesting to see what KD does with his player option.

I haven’t been following the media today, so maybe there’s more info out today. I can’t see another contender offering KD a max right now tho. If he wants to go join a small market team that willing to roll the dice, he may have options. I have to think Klay will stay.

This pic from February says it all now that the AD trade has finally happened:

KD getting hurt sucks for the NBA.

I can't wait for the Lakers to make it to the finals and for the talking heads on tv to start the L36ron and MJ "debate." :slap

Yeah, injuries in sports suck. I hope Klay, KD etc come back and are able to perform at a high level. I’m sure a lot of teams off season plans changed due to these injuries. It certainly makes AD the focus of off season trades. It will be interesting to see what teams are willing to offer KD...if I was a GM, I wouldn’t make any offer for him unless I was running a small market team like Charlotte, Memphis, New Orleans, etc. It’s just not worth the risk.

I guess I could see the Knicks or Lakers offer KD big money, just because they need to make a “big” deal, and they are poorly run teams.

We’ll see how the trade works out. I’m not sure AD is a great fit with LeBron. I’m sure they will be good, but I wouldn’t bet on them for the title. That said, it’s a very good pick up for the Lakers. I’m predicting KD to Knicks now.

Another all star teammate for Bron, but the narrative will be that he'll need more help. Still, AD can't stay healthy, and Bron doesn't play defense or is he willing to change the way he plays, so I don't see them as favorites at all.

AD is going to have become more of a spot up shooter with LeBron, he will be an improved and more dynamic Bosh. Lebron is getting old, so I think they need another all-star. They’ll need to add a few good 3 & D guys to be solid. If they can get in the top 4 seeds, I can see them “turn it on” in the playoffs and have a shot.

when was that ever the narrative besides his first stint and last 2 years with Cle? Every team in the league needed more help to beat a healthy, fully loaded GS team. While I don't see LA as the favorite right now, they at least look like a top 4 team in the West.

it's a great fit if AD is the number one option, which he should be at this point in Lebrons career. Magic was awful at his job, so I would imagine they will fill out the roster better this year. 0 chance KD goes to the Knicks. Kyrie is prolly going to Brooklyn because he's obviously just a quitter when things start to go bad, so I don't see why KD would want to go play with him wherever he is. In 2 years, GS will be champs again (if healthy).

If AD is the top option, then what’s Lebron’s role? Magic style distributor? That’s the issue with this duo to me, they both like to be on the floor in similar spots on offense. They also won’t be a great pick and roll duo since the defense can go under the screener since neither is a deadly shooter. They are both generational talents, but I don’t see much synergy between the two. No doubt they will be good because of the raw talent, but it will be interesting to watch how it actually works on the court.

Good luck coach Kidd (who I played against in High School).

Lakers are in trouble now. LaVar Bell says he guarantees Lakers will never win a title.

“They [are] going to regret it. I’m [going] to have fun with it. I told y’all it was crashing down. Now, it completely crashed, but at least my son got off the boat before the thing exploded. I gave [them] a chance. You can rewind it and go back, and I said ‘If you get the three Ball brothers you’re going to survive this. You let them go, it’s going to be a cold day in hell.’I don’t care where Lonzo plays. Like I said, I just want him to be healthy and I want him to play. And it’s better to go somewhere where you can just play and do your thing, and be that guy instead of having all these question marks behind him. Once you don’t believe in him it’s kinda hard to come back and be like ‘Oh, we believe in him now.’ Cause now we don’t know if you’re true or not. You had the first chance to believe in him and you didn’t. So, guess what? It’s time to go.”

“Like I said, I guarantee it will be the worst move the Lakers ever did in their life and they will never win another championship,” LaVar proclaimed. “Guarantee it.”
