Looks cool. Wouldn't mind owning this, but the price is outrageous. Hopefully I can get a deal somewhere down the road, but honestly, I probably won't be able find one for the price I'm willing to pay.

I figured I'd never find an original in NM condition for a good price so I bought one of these when it went on presale. The only thing that looks weird to me was the high gloss of the black plastic as the originals don't seem to have that especially all of those stored loose and played with over the years. I just hope they keep this one real limited especially since there were so many naysayers. I'll be bummed if they blow these ****ers out down the line.

I actually like the glossy plastic....the original was flat, even untouched examples like mine was before I opened it.....
It's nice that it's slightly different, not to mention the actual character was slimy so it's fitting!

I also have the glowie, I know some think it's a pos, but I like green glowy plastic....I don't know why....it must stem from childhood memories of creature from the black lagoon from remco and other glow in the dark things you'd see on Halloween.....but it's actually green, not just a green glow.....and the inner teeth are white....looks awesome to me. I don't generally like odd colored items in my otherwise black hued collection ( darth vader, alien, godzilla, but I do collect batman and creature from the black lagoon as we'll.....I try to focus the collections so it also looks neater.....
Heres an old pic of my alien setup w my old kenner...the tall one is the marmit 23" just one inch shorter than the gentle giant kenner alien:

Beautiful collection Demorathis :clap do you have a Sano Alien burried somewhere in the hive?

$500 and less articulation than the original!? It's a real shame I would have loved to have picked this up, but there is no way in the world it's worth the asking price.

I pre-ordered this last year & cxld when I received my charging notice from GG-just couldn't justify the price-I'm hoping I stumble upon one down the road at a deep discount. It is a nice figure, so congrats to those who got him

It's back in storage but here are some pics I took:

image.jpgimage.jpgthis last one is a forced perspective shot comparing the sano Roswell w the medicom

These are all old pix, from my old place, and I don't really have the collection out, so these pix will have to keep me entertained til I have a new place to display!

The second to last pic is the marmit next to the Roswell by sano and the medicom 12"--
In front of those are the sega 12" black version, neca ver.1, and kaiyodo Revoltech (the precursor to the mega sofubi)

I, too was hoping the gg would be cheaper, but alas, it isn't. As much as I like it, I almost cancelled my preorder due to the paint job on the face....but it didn't bother me once I got it in hand, plus i could always remove the excess paint on the nose if I wanted....
I don't suggest buying, unless you find a good deal....I will say though if it is between an opened used kenner w old rubber bands that'd disintegrate in a few years, or a brand new 24" at $300 with new improved materials I'd rather get the brand new 24" version....if you can get a misb or untouched mint perfect condition original for $500 vs the gg, I'd get the o.g. Kenner.

Love it or hate it, it's a decent collectible and is in it's own way a centerpiece for the sheer size and presentation.....

OK - so I found one of the painted GG versions for $300 MIB. Good deal, you think? (I mean, as much as one can get a good deal with what was an overpriced item to begin with...)

I'm a big Alien fan, and always wanted the Kenner original, so...?

Just scored the original Kenner last week! Boxless, but in amazing condition. I'm so happy! :D

Can I ask what you paid if you don't mind, furystorm? Thanks! :)

Given that loose original 1979 Kenner figures (with box) are going for ridiculous prices on Ebay, I'm happy with the GG 24" at $300 with pristine packaging.

Actually articulation is exactly the same...apparently wrists do swivel...they are just really stiff!
