Wonder when they get to R2D2 if they are going to sculpt the vents, flaps, doors ect on him or print them on a sticker like the original.

Sticker version would be correct but a cop out and cheap looking.

I think I'd be disappointed if it WASN'T a sticker. The point of this is to faithfully reproduce the toys...

I can't see why they'd start upping the level of detail for R2 when the rest are identical to their smaller vintage counterparts.

Well then he for sure would not be worth $80.
I believe the MSRP for the non-exclusive figures will be $70, so I suspect you'll be able to find R2 for $60, if not cheaper. That said, it's the nostalgia that makes me want to buy these figures -- cheap looking stickers and all.

:lecture Exactly. Not using the sticker for the details on R2 would be missing the entire point of these things. Hell, they even went out of their way to sculpt seams into the figures (including down the front of Fett's helmet) and are doing things like large and small head Han.

That said, I don't expect R2 to cost more than $50-$60, either.

I'd rather see R2's torso detailing be printed on, rather then a sticker unless the sticker is quality.

I saw the Stormie at a local B&M, and it was okay I suppose. It's got the nostalgia thing going for it, that's for sure.

I thought the sculpt was a lot softer than I expected. And because it's such a significant size, the flaws in the look and styling of it (that exist in the original toy) are amplified. I guess at that size you really expect it to look more accurate instead of just mimicking the toy. It's a nice facsimile, no doubt about that. But I still don't think the idea is worth the $70.

I agree word for word.

I hope this line does well enough to get as far as Yakface, but I'm not going out of my way to get them. For the price of one of these, I can have two MOTUC figures and lunch.

I'd rather have a GG figure and go hungry. I no longer support Matty. :lecture

:D

So, when are these things supposed to ship to we suckers who bought a premium membership just so we could get one? You'd think that, seeing as how Comic Con was two and a half weeks ago, we might have gotten shipping notices or something. Is this about par for the course with GG?

Really came out great looking... GG final does good on something; just took copying an earlier work :lol

According to a Twitter update, they are supposed to start processing these tomorrow.

I just got my Stormtrooper tonight from Scott aka Mesa. Wow, these are awesome. Even my wife commented on how cool this was, I can't wait for the rest of these to hit. Awesome packaging...and I hate GG. :rock
