These rings in the bin make me wonder . . .It must be that plastic bag the rings come with that drives the prices up! Yep, that must be it! How many GG plastic bags can you say you have? GG should put a sticker on that bag that says it's an exclusive!

Seriously though . . .paying retail price is enough of an insult, but paying more than retail for both pieces??? Reminds me of the famous saying: "A fool and his money are easily parted". Or as another saying goes: "There's one born every minute".

Does anyone who has the GG busts also have the Weta busts? If so, would you mind taking some pictures of them side by side? Aragorn with Aragorn and the RW with the RW.

Yeah, a touch better but looking at them in this pic. They look a lot a like.

I've got both, and I prefer the SSW piece just a bit more. The Weta bases are classy.

The bases are what kept me from ordering the GG busts when they were first announced. I finally gave in because the sculpt quality is very good, but I would love for them to all have nice matching bases.

I can understand that. I personally like the different bases. It makes each piece a little more uniqe.

The bases seem to be the same across a theme (thus the Ringwraith, the Balrog, Saruman, and the two Mordor Hobbits all have the same base).

And GG said straight away that these will be sixth-scale, so they're perhaps more comparable to the SS/W statues than their busts.

I almost came close to ordering these two busts but I'm not going to do it. GG almost sucked me in but they're not going to do it. I don't need to be pissed off again with some special variant or con exclusive that I'm not going to be able to get. Plus, there was a reason I sold all my Weta busts and that was that I'm not a big fan of cut off statues. However, they are nice. No disputing that.

Indeed, as they are more "bust," than cut-off statue. I have never cared for the way that GG does their bases, on the SW line they are like coasters, and I am not a huge fan of the trinket box idea for LOTR. The new Spider-man bases are equally bad for my tastes, the pieces look like they are melting into your display.

I DO like the Jack Sparrow bust they did though - the base is excellent!

Black Hole Moria Orc, basically a Moria Orc in the dark with an LE of 500 and only aval in Japan lol.

Well one no-brainer variant will be the "Wraith-world Frodo/Twilight Frodo" - they already are making the "ghost" variants in the SW line.

I was considering getting in on this line for a little while over the weekend. But, I think I am gonna pass after all. I do like them. But, I don't feel like starting another line right now...

Actually, I am cutting back on the collecting quite a bit to be honest. Gonna stick with the LotR P.F. line...if we get anymore that is.

I love the Ringwraith bust....very nice!!! Wish I would have gotten one to go with the SSC bust I have.
