I can pretty much guarantee you that there will be plenty on eBay. There were only a few of us posting about collecting this line, and then they announce the 500 edition size on Malfoy and everybody wants to get him. Honestly, maybe this will get a few new people to get on board the line, which might be part of why GG did it. But I have a feeling that quite a few people will be getting Malfoy just to sell on eBay. So your chances of seeing one on eBay are very good. Your chances of seeing one on eBay for fifty bucks...

Not so good.

I am one of the people who picked up the malfoy bust. I have never collected the HP busts before but have always been interested in getting the Harry Potter one. Of course there will be people scalping these. However, this is a convention. This will be the second big convention that I have ever been too. The first being C3. With that said, if there is an item that I am some what interested in and have the chance to get it I usually will. That is why I got Malfoy. This was how I got hooked on the star wars bust. Before C3 I really did not know about them but to come home with the whole experiece of C3 I picked one up and I was hooked ever since. I am sure there are other people here who felt the same way and yes there are others who got these to scalp them.

And THIS my dear Tom is what has naffed me off...

GREATLY!!!!!!!!!!!

Wasn't Sirius only 500 last year too?
You never know...maybe a few retailers will get their hands on some and the price might not be as hefty as on ebay.
Wasn't the smeagol bust meant to be a comic-con exclusive?.
I remember buying one at the Forbidden Planet here in London and they had quite a number of them and i'm sure it wasn't more than £40.
I can't remember the exact price but it definitely wasn't more than that.

Smeagol bust was a SDCC Sideshow exclusive.......BUT Sideshow also let overseas dealers carry it to make it easier for the LOTR fans across the water to get one.

Those busts look awesome!!!! Will be picking up the LOTR busts for sure, but the thing I hate about GG if they do it to Star Wars they are going to do it to LOTR. So many exclusives for different events.

They certainly make it hard and expensive to be a completist.

Thanks for the cool news, I guess it will never end... Everytime I think I have everything I wanted to get... something new pops up!

Hopefully without offending any of the fine artists at Sideshow (since they didn't sculpt the Weta busts, and the Weta people don't read this board), it really does seem that the GG Aragorn bust has a more accurate Viggo likeness.
I hope so, since these are not sculpts but "scans" they better be more accurate than sculpts.

tomandshell said:
Either that, or Viggo's contractual imperative that merchandise not bear his exact likeness has run out...
Until somebody proves the opposite, I believe this to be a rumour, although a very persistent one. Having spoken to the sculptor who sculpted the last Viggo statue (Aragorn at the Black Gates) I believe this story is a fairy-tale.

I was just kidding! I always get in trouble with tongue in cheek comments online, where you can't hear my sarcastic tone of voice. Always end up misunderstood...

Gran--the HP busts are really well done, and if you get into this line, I think you will be very pleased with them. I have every one released so far, with all of the rest on order. (Even the creepy skull-faced Death Eater that is going to freak out my kids...)

:horror

I need to pick up the dementor bust and don't know if I will pick up Dobby since I have a statue of him.

Tom,

they do look very impressive. Maybee I will be able to find a Potter bust at SDCC. It looks like a few of the others are still pretty easy to obtain.

Pretty much your only chances for Harry are eBay. I saw one at The Urban Stash a week or so ago for $125 (which is what these are going for on eBay), but I don't know if it's still there. They also had both versions of Sirius.

Yeah I have seen that is what he goes for on ebay so it may be a stretch to get him. Personally I hate ordering stuff on ebay. Hopefully, he will show up at one of the bigger shows and if not then eventually I suppose I will have to break down and order him from ebay.

Is Urban stash some kind of convention?

May be time to trek out to all the comic stores. I once found an Arc trooper maquette after they were long sold out every where else.

i thought i had enough of lotr statues and busts
but these new gg poducts im afraid are a must have
they look amazing.
three cheers for gg.:fireworks

You might well find one at Comic-con. You'll pay a hefty price for it though I'm sure. But who knows there are deals to be found every year at Comic-con you just have to be on a close lookout.

Urban Stash is an internet website.

I completely agree!. The likenesses are uncanny although i do have to admit that i thought Sirius was a bit off the mark. Maybe that's me being a bit too fussy!.
I have all six busts that are available so far and i'm definitely going to get the Nearly Headless Nick and the DeathEater busts next month (and hopefully Lucius as well...fingers crossed) and then onto Ron and Hermione in Nov/Dec.

I have just been looking on ebay at sellers from the UK and the Harry Potter bust seems to be getting scarce over here too.
The only one available is for around £70....double the price i paid and i only bought mine a few months ago!.

I see now thanks. Have you ever ordered through them?

Sorry, no I haven't but they seem to be a legit site.

Hard to believe this thing is going crazy like it is right now, I got mine for $80 just a few months ago.

...you can ask Fritz whether he got a good deal or not.

Since you mention it, No I don't think I got a good deal. A good deal would have been getting it direct from GG for retail. But since I didn't and I'm irrational when it comes to these stupid collectibles, I took you up on your offer because it was the best one out there. To be totally honest, I'm kind of regretting the decision. When I look at it, I don't see a cool Blackhole Stormtrooper I see $375.

DL, since I quoted you above, please don't misunderstand me. I'm not angry with you or anything like that. Our transaction was smooth and all good. I'm referring to the overall situation not you or our transaction. :)

God I'm never gonna have any money. :lol Another line I'll be collecting. Why? These things look awesome!! The appear to be done very very well and have a cool look to them. Man, gonna get a chance to see these in a week nice!!

I hope to see some great pics on here next weekend. I had been wondering for a while if GG would be doing LOTR busts and if so whether I'd get them or not. I think they made my decision a lot easier.
