I think the bases have a little too much going on, but it looks like a good start to this line.

as usual,
thank you Tom :)

They really look nice, and considering that I start to collect the complete the GG SW bust line, may be I will add this line as well. But again, what about the 12" SS line is another question as I do not want to cancel that line and do not want so many LOTR stuff as well considering I will be buying the PF line also

I was just thinking the same thing. Tough choices because they all seem so great. Add the animated maquettes and that's 4 LOTR lines alone.:google :google :google

And I'm more of a SW fan :google :google :google :google :google

The bases are a tad different and maybe a little too busy but like you said Tom I think we can deal with it.

WOW! These busts looks awesome! I never collected any GG pieces before but these might be my first. So, do I order them directly from GG or do I have to order them through a retailer? Sorry, but I am not quite sure how GG works.

Most online statue/bust retailers carry GG.

I never understand the reason of the animated ones. They are just for marketting. I mean clone wars maquettes are cool but not the vader, boba fett, leia...etc (although I am buying leia :D ) there is not an animated LOTR series, so why there is animated saruman??

Needless to say, i am not buying the LOTR maquettes

I really was blown away with these. While some people like and/or are used to the standard GG Base, I love the detailing even there. The Ringwrath is definitely my fav of the two. I've been absent from the Star Wars Gentle Giant line because I always felt it'd be too hard to go back and get the pieces I've really wanted due to secondary market pricing but with these I'll have to start from the ground up!

The whole drawer thing is kinda pointless. Most of these busts will be bought by the same geeks that bought the SSW line. I dont see how those would open up their display cabinet, to put a little something in a drawer in one of his collectibles. In fact....its a REALLY stupid idea. I mean, what the hell am I supposed to put in there anyway? If I had Strider's ring or something, I certainly would want to display it, not put it in a drawer.

Anyway, I really like these busts! The base design is looking pretty darn good I think. Only thing I can say is, that the SSW line seems to be more detailed than the GG busts.

YES! A line that is on the cheaper side that I can start to collect! Whoo hoo!!

The thing I love about the GG bust is that they incorperate arms into them making for more dynamic poses

PS. I think the drawer was a way of getting round the licensing issue from Newline seeing as SSW already made busts already
