Not meant to be, but for sculpt and intricacy the SSW blows this pearlescent cartoon out of the water.

You're still a good guy though --- even if you're nuts. :D

There's more detail in the SSW one thats for sure. I just don't care for it.

You're a great guy as well and we all know I'm nuts. :lol

I gotta back Matt, here. The Wiki is da Bomb.

I have to pass on this witchqueen... I'm holding out for the GG bust.

And if I didn't know you better, Josh, I'd have to say that you've sniffed too much glue! :lol
How's that for rude?

(I'll go back to lurking now)

I'm going to jump on the crazy wagon and say that I think the stylized approach of the animated maquettes suits this character (or this version of the character, I should say) better than the literal look of the original "realistic" version.

For me, there is just no way to sculpt something that has the same look and feel as this image:

Like the King of the Dead, this character design appeared in the film with an accompanying level of special effects work that doesn't translate as well to a strictly literal sculpt approach--especially when taken out of the context of Frodo's "Ring Vision" and placed on the shelf next to other "real world" characters. With the animated maquettes, your brain has already taken a step away from a literal representation of what was seen onscreen, and I think that works in the GG piece's favor.

Price aside, I never had the desire to own the SSW WiKi as I didn't think it really fit in with the other pieces. (And I felt the same about the KOTD, although I did purchase that one.) Literal/tactile representations of these images just don't work as well for me.

I agree that with pieces like and the KOTD the animated style will work quite nicely. They come across sort of with an animated look to begin with.

I gotta agree with LOTRFan and GrueSam, The Josh is nuts! We can discuss it during the Freaks party at SDCC 2008. :D

However, I was not a big fan of the Weta Wiki either. I had it and it just didn't do it for me. The animated Wiki is kind of neat looking but since I'm not a big fan of the animated line, I probably won't get it. That being said, I'm not nuts so I won't say the GG version is betta than the Weta. :monkey5

:lol The stylized version of the statues give it a little bit of an edge over the SSW, IMO. I not only want a statue of a character, I want a character with some style

Fritz! You can't go giving away all my secrets. You'll make the monkey cry.:monkey2

You know talking about this Twilight (Witch-king) Ringwraith Animaquette gets me thinking, just how much cash Sideshow would make to revisit the Witch-king of Angmar and sculpt it in the Premium Format or 1/4 scale lines. That would rock!!! :rock
Sideshow.....Bring on the Premium Format Witch-king!!!!

Anyone like that idea?

Just picked this up on PreOrder over the LS. I don't hate the LS but I like this much better.

Re: GENTLE GIANT : Twilight Witch-King Ringwraith Animaquette

I don't know if this was mentioned here. But I just saw this :

There was a thread, so I went ahead and merged them.

Do you collect the animated line? I have all of the Star Wars ones but I haven't got the space for the LOTR ones as well. (Although I have really liked the ones I've seen in person.)
