Are there any paint-ups of Rocco's Venkman yet (or Stantz for that matter)? Can't find any pics.

Ski's paint on those sculpts is going to be amazing! :exactly:

I've got the outside rim/lip curing on the pad right now. Going to give it a once over after that, and then I'll post final pics.

Also I have a good idea for how to attach the elbow pads that should look accurate but still allow for a good range of movement. Don't throw away your Mattel ones just yet.

Wanted to share some of my experiences with dying tonight...
I got the RIT pearl grey and did my soldier story jumpsuit. I had used about the half the pack of grey with about 1/3 gallon of hot water and about a teaspoon of salt.
It came out very grey, far too grey. Luckily I had also gotten the color remover, so that instantly brought it back to normal.
I again tried the grey, but much more diluted. It's still drying, so well see how it turns out. At this point it's hardly noticeable. I think you might have to use the color remover first to achieve the desired hue, but at this point that's not something I want to try on my only jumpsuit.
I also tried to remove the color from the tan web belt with no success.
I then tried to dye it grey with no success. So that will probably stay tan. I might try bleach, but again at this point I'm not sure, I don't want to ruin anything.

So just a heads up for anyone get ready to dye their jumpsuits!

I did a whole dyeing tutorial here that might be helpful for those doing the flightsuit.
You're likely not going to be able to dye the belt. I'm guessing its made of the same nylon thread that stitched the jumpsuit and the dye won't touch that. You could try getting the dye bath boiling hot, but I still don't think it'd have much of an effect. You're pretty much trying to dye plastic, and not a soft one at that. Additionally I would avoid bleaching the belt. You run the risk of destroying the material, or rusting the metal rivets.

A little watered down paint should help to lighten it a bit.

I've been out of it for a couple days but I'm back on track with the elbow pads. Hoping to pour the mold late tonight.

On the flipside I did score a couple of Mattel GBs on ebay for around retail, I've got my patches coming from 1/6 King, and placed an order with the Monkey. :thud: Very, very excited now! :yess:

The trick is not to use too much dye. Especially given the small size of the garment. I successfully dyed the Mattel suits using Rit dyes.

FYI, here's the unpainted Venkman Snyder-Man head on a Ghostbuster body:

I actually don't have the Rocco sculpts in-hand at the moment, but I think the Snyder-Man version is a bit smaller (and possibly more in-scale with a Truetype body). But both work pretty well in my opinion. Here are some pics of both heads on the same body:

Yeah, I was thinking I should have been a bit more specific. :lol Aren't Seb's latest versions Mattel flight suits? Also, any leads on replacing their belts? The white plastic ones are horrible.

Ended up scrapping the one I started eariler this week because it was too big and did up another from scratch.

Don't have my 'Busters gear yet so my old SS Luke is modeling it. Pouring the mold tonight so I'll be starting an interest thread in just a sec.
