I'd like to reserve the right to reconsider if the GB suits don't turn out as well as expected quality-wise, or if the prices end up being prohibitively expensive, but please put me down for four pack frames and four GB suits for now.

What Mudshark said and please put me down for 4 suits and 4 alice frames also.

Depending on price and quality, Id take 4 suits and 4 alice

Might be interested in 3 frames...but I also want to see the pricing and pics before comitting.

TOTALLY understand. Like I said at the beginning, I can't expect anyone to fully commit until we have a price and pics. We have no idea what to expect as far as quality of work until we see it. :)

Latecommer to the whole thing so far all I've done is signed up for Proton packs. But am intertesed in whatever else comes so I can have ghost busters on my shelves, so if I can sign up for the alice frames and suits I'd like to do so 4 of each. And also whatever heads are comming down the pipe line if its not to late.

I'd be interested in four jumpsuits from Storeroom too. If they come with the boots, knee and elbow pads, and gloves. I'm also interested in four ALICE packs. I still have to get the proton packs, and the custom heads someday too. I'm still interested in all four Ghostbusters guys' custom heads, and this entire project. Thanks again Rick! :D

Hi Serpentor, nice to have you here!

You're not too late for anything, thanks for coming around. For you, and everyone else who is new here, let me give a status report on where we are in this massive Ghostbusters project.

We have different things going on here.

THE HEADS

First off is the commissioning of the 1:6 heads by a professional sculptor, which we are doing one at a time.
We just completed Bill Murray, who turned out amazing (browse about 6 pages back for pics). Wave one of the Venkman/Murray heads HAVE JUST ARRIVED and should be getting sent out to everyone FRIDAY for those who pre-ordered them!

This doesn't leave you out in the cold. Everyone who was late or still needs a Venkman head can still get them for $25 ($15 for each additional head), and only $5 shipping. The only thing is, you won't get them until we recieve our shipment with our second head, Ray Stantz, which I am preparing to send off to Ada in a week or so, (as soon as I try and get a few more payments in!)

Rays price is the same. $10 of his price goes is part of the commissioning cost it takes to hire the sculptor.

You can pre-pay ahead for any of the Ghostbusters you want. The sooner we get money in, the sooner the next commission can go out, though I've been asked not to kill everyone by doing them too quick, which I TOTALLY understand.

Right now we are looking at doing all four original GB from GB1, after Ray will be Winston and Egon. After that, whoever there is still enough interest for. We have started a Louis list to see how many people we can get interested in him.

THE COSTUMES

Storeroom.com said they will MAKE the outfits for us. We are in talks right now to determine quantity and cost. The plan is for the outfits to come with pads, belts, and gloves, and boots, so all the costumes are the same. I did ask about putting on the no-ghosts logo on the arm, and need to hear back on that.

The TECH

Nick is kicking some serious ass with his custom Proton packs, without which these Ghostbusters would only be half envisioned. If his Proton pack list ever nears an end, he just might be able to reproduce and offer his Traps and PKE meters for us (but we're keeping him awefully busy).

PM me for head payment details. Thanks!

Badass, man! :rock I was just about to ask for a Venkman update!

This project is just jammin' by leaps and bounds. Smart to be able to offer the complete figure from various sources. Well done, WST.

So does anyone have a completed figure yet? I'd really like to see how this all came out. Been following you guys since the beginning.

I'm sort of torn over getting the suits from Storeroom.com since I already have two different flight suit designs that look pretty spiffy. But if something else was offered that was more accurate I would deffinitely be in. So about me in for 4 suits (belts, boots, and elbow pads) pending final design but I would be in for 4 alice packs for certain.

I found some tan flightsuits that seem to be accurate from the DML "Perry" figure. I managed to turn up 5 of them, but all have some sticky residue on the shoulders from some patches that were removed...need to figure out how to get that off.

Anyways...suits need to be dyed a little darker, but they look fairly close otherwise. I'll have to ask some of you GB experts what kinf of mods need to be done once I get some pics up :)

Hi there, first post here
Anyway I'm the guy that made this Ray I think someof you have seen

I noticed there are alot of people looking for jumpsuits. Im not sure if this has been posted by anyone but, Just wanted to throw out there I used the green George Bush flight suits and used RIT dye, they are pretty close to screen accurate (the flash distorts the color a bit and makes it darker)

Hope this helps!

The Ghostbuster flight suits are more gray than tan(khaki) truth be told but here is my experience with the DML flightsuits.

To start I peeled off the "rubber" patches off my suits and then let them soak in hot soapy (laundry detergent) water for about 15 minutes. This helped soften up the glue and allowed me to roll it into a ball and pull it off the fabric. This got rid of surface glue but there was still an ugly yellow-orange colored stuff that had seeped into the fabric. I tried to rewash it out using hot soapy water with little to no effect. In the end I ended up soaking the shoulders of the uniform with goo-gone and wiping them down with a wet paper towel. Then I rewashed them in hot soapy water another 2-3 times with a thorough rinse in warm water between each wash cycle. It was fairly effective removal although there was some small discoloration from the glue. If the goo-gone hadn't worked I would have kicked it up a notch and tried acetone but that's just me. The multiple washing/rinsing cycles made my finger tips raw but it did the trick.

Since the suits were such a pale tan color (too tan to be ivory but too light to be khaki) they needed a good dying. I always have Rit dye pearl gray (among other colors) on hand so I boiled about 5 quarts of water on the stove top and then combine it with about a gallon of hot tap water, a full pack of dye, a spoonful of detergent, and 1 cup of non-iodized salt for my dye bath. After making sure everything was mixed completely I let it set for about 10 minutes (need to make sure everything is dissolved or you'll end up with a splotchy dye job) and then mixed it again. After making sure my suits were soaked through completely (suits must be wet before adding to dye bath) I added them to the dye bath. I kept them in for less than 10 minutes (probably 7-8) before I removed them. After removing them from the dye I rinsed them in warm water. I then transferred them to warm soapy water and hand washed them to remove any "loose" dye. After washing them I let them soak in luke warm water for about an hour to help remove any remaining dye. I then gave them another rinse and threw them in the dryer. From personal experience when dying the suits they will be darker when initially removed from the dye bath then what they will be upon final rinse AND they will be lighter when fully dried than when soaking wet when finished with the final rinse. In a nutshell if you think you got carried away with the initial dying process you might want to wait till it's been rinsed and dried before getting discouraged. I typically wait to dump out my dye bath till done drying my dyed fabrics. That way if I need to dye them a bit darker I can always wet them and throw them back in.

In the end my suits turned out pretty well. The gray dye helped to cover up the glue stains and really made the suits that much closer to being "screen" accurate. I haven't taken any progress photos of my suits lately but I would be happy to take some and post them if anybody is interested.

VERY helpful info, Spook! The glue residue on my suits is still fairly gooey (like sitting in a hot sun all day kinda gooey), but I am definitely going to give it a shot. I had planed on dying them slightly as well, and your tutorial looks great!

Variety reports progress on GB III!

Columbia Pictures is getting serious about scaring up a new installment of its blockbuster "Ghostbusters" franchise.

The studio has set "The Office" co-exec producers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky to write a script for a film designed to bring back together the original cast of Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson.

Studio would not comment on the development and has been mum on recent rumors that there was interest in making another installment of the franchise.

The scribes just wrote "Year One," a comedy that was directed by Ramis. Ramis has directed several episodes of the Office. Ramis with Aykroyd wrote the first two installments of the films. Ivan Reitman directed both the 1984 original and the sequel that was released in 1989.

The close proximity between the writers and original Ghostbuster Ramis is evidence that the ghost chasers have sparked to the idea of returning.

"Ghostbusters" was Columbia's highest grossing film ever, until it was beaten by "Men in Black" and then "Spider-Man." An attempt to make a third installment of the franchise was stymied in the dealmaking stage. Sources said so much gross was pledged to the participants that it was next to impossible for the studio to make any money on a third installment.

No deals will be made with the original cast until the script is ready, but the gross percentage will certainly be an issue. Sony has a standing policy not to allow more than 25% of first dollar gross out the door.

The scribes, who are Emmy- nominated for their work on "The Office," just set up another picture at Columbia, selling their spec script "Bad Teacher" to the studio for Jimmy Miller to produce.
