Honestly, I think a Bateman type would fit more into the kind of movie we're actually getting, than one I would want to see. I'm also not sure I could buy him as a scientist. Maybe the EPA guy.

But I agree with you that there is no direct parallel to Murray. He is one of a kind, so anyone else would only reflect certain aspects of his humor or personality.

Perhaps. I forgot about Vince Vaughn. He's another guy who does sarcastic humor well though he's become very hit and miss as of late. I think with Martin Freeman's range he could portray an over-excited scientist (Ray) quite well.

They've been leaving the racist/sexist comments up and deleting any comments containing legitimate criticism. I think Sony's gameplan here is to try and sculpt the narrative of this negative reaction to 'evil online misogynists' being behind it all.

If so, I hope it blows up in their faces, spectacularly. I was expecting this to be bad, but nothing on earth could have prepared me for that trailer. I legitimately hope this movie bankrupts Sony Pictures.

I'll be honest, the whole female cast idea was an easy thing to latch on to at the start to bash but after seeing the trailer the female cast is the least of the problems with the movie.

It's going to be an easy way out for Sony if they say everyone disliked the movie because they're sexist fans.

Martin Freeman could be a nice addition to a theoretical Ghostbusters movie, even though he's another guy with good comedic timing who's not a comedian. And that's not a limitation you had with the original Ghostbusters film. A modern day Ray could be Patton Oswalt maybe. Could be believable as a serious geek with his heart int he right place, though he would also be a pale imitation of peak career Aykroyd.

you forgot one

Is this as bad as everybody says? It looks fun judging by the trailers.

Ummm... Rory, is this a joke? Because if not I don't know what to think.
Are you seriously tryin' to defend this pile of vomit after constant attacks on BvS for "bein' cheesy"?
In what way yet another superhero film is more important than new Ghostbusters?

The only way this could be good is if the female Ghostbusters die in the first 20 minutes and the Original team (minus Ramis, of course) had to step in and save the day. Now that would be a great twist.

They should just do a CGI Ramis Egon Ghost and have him hook up with the original cast to take down the new GB female team invading their turf in NY. In an epic climatic twist the original team gang up with Vigo to take them down. Once the female GB team is defeated Peter turns to the screen and says 'Who ya gonna' call? Not these b!otches!' Boom! There's your movie! :rock

I've seriously grown to despise trailer reviews and reaction videos*. That's just another millennial thing that I can't get into. I refuse to watch anymore.

*Except the one where Daisy Ridley cried after seeing herself in a SW trailer. That was freaking cute.

The second one is not a real reaction, it's just a guy parodying what SWJs would say, it's funny because that's actually what they're saying of social media. :lol

I do so love how this movie is making SJW eat each other, this might not be so bad after all.
