Ghostbusters reboot with all-female leads

Best Buy has a deal where if you purchase the 1984 Ghostbusters on blu-ray you get a voucher to stream the new GB a week after the film's release. When asked why they weren't doing the typical "free theatrical ticket w/purchase" Best Buy responded "We didn't think it would be fair to give fans a voucher for something that will only be in theaters for six days." When asked to elaborate the spokesman simply said, "We're just doing our part to make America great again."

Is that real? Because I was thinking of ordering the new (Original) Ghostbusters Blu-ray Steelbook. Would be funny if after all the complaining I made if I ended up seeing it because I bought the Steelbook.

There was some original Ghostbusters stuff at Wal-Mart. But it was overpriced for what it was. If I see some of that on clearance, I'll buy. On a related note, I stopped by Big Lots tonight, and they did have Ghostbusters Stay Puft (and Slimer) marshmallows. Worth going for those bad boys.

the original sequel they had planned was all girls, Joel Schumacher had the idea of doing an all girl movie since making the original.

it never happened but in that case, they were already thinking about it. it was going to be set in the same town but years later. it just never happened.

I knew all that, but now they're talking about it again, only more of a reboot of the original. Hope it falls through.

Speaking of Schumacher, the director of this new GB reminds me a lot of Schumacher in a crisp Stay-Puft-white suit. He said he wanted this movie to be "big, loud and colorful". Like a rainbow.

It is pretty incredible to see the depths that Sony is going to to hide how bad this movie is and blaming everything on sexism. I would have been more accepting of this movie WITH this cast had it been a sequel, not a reboot.

It's a bloody comedy about a bunch of arguably funny people catching ghosts. Who cares.
It will not come to your house and steal your DVDs of the original movie.

Why not just not do it? To make a statement and get attention, that's why.
