Wow. 9 months delay within nearly a month of release. They've already sunk millions into marketing and merchandising. They've run the trailers before events like The Avengers, There are tv spots, theater posters and standees advertising the specific June release date, and the toys are on shelves now.

They even ran that super bowl ad if you guys remember. Not cheap.

Is this unprecedented? :lol this movie must be terrible.

I think Paramount is scared to lose more money. This summer is packed with so called blockbusters. The Avengers is proof that a hot movie can steam roll the box office for multiple weeks. With Spider-man opening right after it I can see them getting cold feet. It is way too close to opening for them to change it to 3D without a 'come to Jesus' type meeting.

Maybe it's not bad. Maybe they just think it's bad because it's different than RoC and therefore they want to make it more like that piece of ____. It's a feasible theory.

:nono It's a huge mistake to expect any movie to perform at an Avengers standard. It's a compilation piece built over the course of several years and as many films. Plus, how many parents do they honestly think are gonna fork over 3D prices to kicking and screaming brats?

Seriously, and I say this without an ounce of sarcasm or hyperbole... stuff like this proves that some of the dumbest people on this planet are Hollywood execs.

And how scary is it that between these morons, the clowns in Washington D.C., and feckless corporate & banking execs basically trillions of dollars worth of bad decisions are made by people who should probably be drooling in an asylum somewhere, or reaching for the soap in the joint?

:exactly::exactly::exactly:

They had to push it out because once Spiderman is released july 2nd and dark knight comes out aswell that month...nobody is going to care about G.I.Joe

By no means am I comparing The Amazing Spider-man to the Avengers, I know the Avengers have been building for years, just saying Spider-man has been successful in the past and have a fanbase and GI Joe has such a short window to put together a few good weeks to make back their money, let only make a profit. I would have understood changing the date in the early spring, but this can't be a good sign.

Yeah but that's no reason to push it NINE months. Yes, actual human lifeforms can go from Pre-production to Release in the time of that delay. :lol

No, this film is effed in some big way.

I wasn't meaning you, I was meaning those responsible for the delay. :lol

I don't see Spider-Man or TDKR being all that "family" friendly, so this would've been the perfect flick to fill that gap. :huh

It was slated for late June, bud, before those hit. It would've been just fine. :dunno

ya think? June 29th release then 4 days later is Spiderman

Trust me,G.I.Joe against spidey is doom for Joe especially since the first one sucked

I bought one of those GI JOE toy packs with The Rock in it....may scalp it...seeing is how all the ____ will be pulled from the shelves. :lol

I'll probably see this when it comes out next year, or whenever but I'm at the point where I can't really stand Bruce Willis anymore.

If I see him in a wife beater one more time I'll hurl.
