I don't know. But I'd imagine they'd at least have to sign off on the delay. They own the property afterall and like I said, are heavily invested in the merch, which is likely already in stock rooms right now (they're releasing them any day now right? I know TDKR stuff hits at the end of the month at that film comes out a good month before this so it should be any day now). And like you said, some of its already out like the Amazon set.

Surely Hasbro has some clause in the contract about something like this. Its not an easy thing to just pull a big blockbuster tenpole with tons of tie in products just 5 weeks out. Everything is made by now for release. Its not some comedy like One for the Money that you can easily hold off for 9 months! That had to real tie ins or promotions to make things messy. This certainly won't be pretty.

They're already out. I just bought the 3 pack with The Rock today.

I was tempted at first, but I thought they might pull them off soon, so I just bought the thing.

That's cool. Soon to be ex-COO when G.I. Joe doesn't pull off anything remotely warranting the delay for the conversion. :lol

I don't see how they're going to keep the marketing campaign in full swing for another 9 months and I don't see them recalling the toys only to reship them later. That's a huge cost tacked on to what they've already wasted on marketing for the June release.

I'm not all that impressed by 3d usually. I also don't think a 3d transfer will save this anyway.

What about the toys and merchandise? Hasn't Hasbro already produced the stuff for the movie's release? I wouldn't think they'd want to hold that stuff for 9 months.

I saw some mention on other boards about how He seems to dislike GI joe, and wants to kill it off as a product. don't know iif there is any truth to that.

though this action kinda makes me think their might be.

What moron would want to kill off a brand that made the company the success it is? :cuckoo:

Actually, scratch that. It's the same type of ____tard that would think Battleship would make a good movie. :lol

my point exactly. Blargh... oh well. as long as i can find a roadblock figure with goofy ass cannon in a week or so, I'm happy. need to finish off my Sargent slaughter custom.

who knows, perhaps they'll restructure the toylines over the next year, and bring out the not movie accurate figures first.
Like the rather cool night vipers, and crimson guards.

I'm tired of this 3D gimmick crap Hollywood is trying to shove down our throats, it is more of a distraction than any real experience. The reason why they think 3D is so popular is because the majority of recent film showings are only in 3D.

Amen. :goodpost:

I was dead on. This whole 3D thing is just a smokescreen for major reshoots.

Dwayne Johnson confirmed via his Twitter that new scenes are being filmed soon.

Of course, they all say this is just to "enhance" the 3D... but if you believe that you may as well shop for swamp land in Dagobah.

I really don't think 3-D really has anything to do with it.Its all about Money

From Aintitcoolnews-

"But with the record-setting numbers THE AVENGERS has been pulling since it assembled, there's plenty of reason to be worried about going head-to-head with our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man over Fourth of July Weekend. G.I. JOE: RETALIATION is only getting a few days head start on Spidey, and that doesn't necessarily mean people are going to rush out to see it knowing what's waiting for them a few days later over the holiday. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN is still a Spider-Man movie, and that'll always trump G.I. JOE."

"all types of early screening reports about the quality of G.I. JOE: RETALIATION, which have ranged from "nonsensical" to "worse than RISE OF COBRA"

"Paramount now seeing Channing Tatum as more of an asset" (this is laughable)

"rumbling of reshoots that would call for more Tatum in the movie. The G.I. JOE RETALIATION we see nine months from now may only vaguely resemble the one we would have gotten one month from now."
