G.I. Joe RAH was a little late for me (cartoon wise) and I never got into the figures until Sideshow started to release them. Now, I have some reference for the figures, even if it isn't what a lot of you know as the story. I thought it was pretty good, but still think CC was a wuss...

...and...

...they go through bone like butter... :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

Finally got around to watching the full 'movie' I recorded the other night. Loved it! I really really hope we get more, a prequel, set maybe a few years before this.

Anyway, it was great to see G I Joe handled in this fashion :rock

and what the hell is the deal with Hasbro making Scarlett HAVE TO FALL FOR THE BLONDE HAIRED, BLUE EYED LEADER - AGAIN!??
The comic book worked with the Snake-Eyes relationship...Why, change it...AGAIN!?

Wait...isn't Snake Eyes blonde and blue eyed, too? ;)

Didn't have a chance to catch this on saturday so I watched all the eps on youtube tonight. I must say for the most part I'm impressed. I really dig Cobra Commander in this one. I'm so used to seeing him portrayed as kinda a wuss and a coward in the original cartoon series I grew up watching so it's nice to see him grow a pair in this one and Snake Eyes was pure awesomeness. I love his commando/ninja hybrid look. I was a little dissapointed in Storm Shadow's portrayal though.
Maybe it's just me but I felt he died way to easily
. I was also dissapointed on Zartan's portrayal as well and I wish they would have given Firefly a larger role. But overall I though this was great and definantly different the the original cartoon I grew up watching but still very G.I. Joe-like as well.

I watched it yesterday as well... overall very well done. Although it still kind of shocked me each time you saw one of the Joes kill someone... guess I'm too used to the exploding ship and then seeing a parachute afterwards :lol

Couple things I didn't like though... the command center dialog and portion was kind of weak, too much like an episode of 24 or CSI. And, the scenes were 5 or 6 Cobra troopers were firing at Duke and Scarlett from less than 20 feet and not hitting anything was a bit silly. I know its a cartoon and all, but if everything else is gonna be gritty and realisitic those battles could have been as well.

But overall, it was a cool series and I'd definitely watch any follow up episodes or if they do a prequel series.

Read this today and made me laugh:

I Praised Warren Ellis' ^^^^^ and I Didn't Even Get This Lousy T-Shirt
Posted at 3:31 PM May 08, 2009

Let me set the scene -- G.I. Joe: Resolute comes out a few weeks ago. As you might recall, it's awesome. In a post from April 24th, I say about Resolute scriptwriter Warren Ellis:
You know how we all complain that so-and-so raped our childhoods? Well, this is the exact opposite. I used this line in my Twitter, but I stand by it -- G.I. Joe: Resolute is like Warren Ellis made tender, passionate love to our childhoods, and he had an enormous ^^^^.
Now, today, someone sends the following pic to Warren Ellis of the shirt she wore to see Star Trek last night:

What. The. ^^^^buckets. I am simultaneously proud and irked, mostly because whoever made this shirt didn't send me one. Topless Roboteers, I call on you -- find this woman and/or the shirt-maker, and have them get in touch with me at [email protected] so we can rectify this injustice immediately. I don't praise people's ^^^^^es for my health, you know.

I was not too happy in the end.
I mean, I just loved seeing a GI Joe cartoon again, but...

Spoilers: Don't continue reading if you have not watched it yet!

Firstly, they freaking killed everyone....The entire cast of characters went to the same Sharpshooting school for the blind...AGAIN, and what the hell is the deal with Hasbro making Scarlett HAVE TO FALL FOR THE BLONDE HAIRED, BLUE EYED LEADER - AGAIN!??

To recap:
Bludd - DEAD
Zartan - DEAD
Strom Shadow - DEAD (?!?!?!?!?)
Bazooka - DEAD
A few Unnamed Joes - DEAD (Finally!!!)
Duke - Recovered from bullet wound to the ribs pretty quickly.
Ripcord - Looked like they made him a black guy to me. (Wayans)
Dial Tone - A Young Girl (!?!??!?!)

....and Springfield was freakin' annihilated!?!?!? What is left but to start from scratch for CC.....Baroness and Destro were captured.

I don't know.
I just don't know.

dialtone as a chick is a nod to devils due. It's been a while, but in the comics, Dial tone was one of the OLDEST joes. He was a Combat Vet who had seen ALOT of action even before his days as a Joe. when they re-foremd the team in devils due, He did not re-join. I cannot remember, however, if this is becuase he was retired, or dead. anyways, His code-name was Recycled. Also, if memory serves, she dies HARD in the comics.

I wish Destro sounded like a big Vader-lite brotha instead of Shawn Connery.
Destro's a Scot. He sounded FINE in the show, and even in the old show I never associted his voice with a black guy. He spoke Clearly, and with a deep, Full voice. No accent, however in the old cartoon. Remeinds me of someone who has traveled the world, and lost his accent becuase of it.
Besides that, I used to know a skinny white dude ( seriously, the guy was like 115 lbs) who had a voice like Barry white. No, you don't need to be "Big gay bubba" to have a deep baratone voice. Link related, and funny as hell.

I always thought that Destro's voice was odd and out of place, white dude with a pimp chain and a black voice, much like 80's R&B singer, Rick Astley. :lol

Why doesn't CN pick up Resolute as a full-fledged series instead of Clone Bores?

AWESOME, thanks for sharring the info Khev :D

I am Def picking this up but no Blu ray sucks!!! :banghead
