No idea. I'll have to go back and watch FOTR, but I'm fairly certain there wasn't a uniform of the day or dress code for the orcs. Most of the Moria orcs had armor that looked as if it had been cobbled together from carious fallen foes. As far as creative license, it MAY have been decided to go with blue to offset all of the browns and reds on Gimli.

Super detailed, just the way I like it.

I was so looking forward to opening the box last night, but never go round to it...so pics will have to wait till tomorrow I'm afraid.

It was a Birthday gift from my wife and two boys.

That is why I had to wait till I got home to open it.

But couldn't do that until the boys' homework was completed.

That took longer than expected, hence the reason - NO PICS!

Exactly. That's why I was wondering if it was taken from a certain image or prop since typically all the Moria Orc undergarment stuff in the past has been red.

hi can you guys take a look at the photo below, it seems there is a hole in his eyebrow. Can you please take a look at yours and see if it's the same? or take some closeup shots, i want to compare to see if it's all the same or mine looks kind odd. thanks

This is a WIP image.

this is not a hole.

But the statue could have been cleaned up a bit before painting.

A great piece none-the-less.

It's just the gap between the eyebrow and the edge of the helm.

Perhaps it should have been cleaned up a bit and painted in the flesh color.

No going to hold that against this great piece though.

good buys, the more i look at those statues the more awesome they are. You should get aragorn next, it's backordered and probably the next one to sell out.

I am running out of space again, need to get another curio. Those giant curio looks like they can fit so much, but a few statues later they are full! really need to move to a house /sigh

My Gimli Exclusive came in today! Great statue, the dead orc is awesome! Now that I have two I want the others a lot more

EDIT: Well, just noticed a small chip on the back of the Orcs hair. Nothing big, and it isn't visible when attached so I don't think I will do anything.

The Gandalf is one of the very nicest LOTR collectibles I have ever seen because every aspect of the sculpt and pose is perfect - it totally captures the essence of the character!!
