I wonder if this will allow Sideshow to make anything beyond this film. I've wanted monster fight dioramas for ages.

I'm curious if this will open doors for Sideshow to do Toho-based Godzilla products finally, as I believe they'd do the best production paint ever, hopefully the sculpts would be up to par. I asked one of the Sideshow higher ups about it once and it's not a lack of want on their part, apparently it's a tough license for western manufacturers to get, which makes sense, Bandai's pretty much the only game for anything like Sideshow, everything else comes out of eastern manufacturers. I believe Bandai even has some control over who can do what.

I'm excited for all of these. Hoping this'll recharge everyone's Godzilla batteries enough to do merchandise from the previous movies.

I got the SDCC t-shirt from two or three years ago for the Legendary Pictures Godzilla movie. I also have one of Godzilla fighting Cthulu. They're pretty cool.

I really want a cool Godzilla t-shirt, last one I ever had was Godzilla vs Barkley :lol

They're producing Biollante!!! She has a cool lightup gimmick ...and is that Bio-Goji?? :panic:

Nov/Dec 2013

The largest Godzilla figure from Tamashii Nations to date, the massive Biollante joins the incredibly detailed S.H. MonsterArts line! Highly requested through consumer feedback, Biollante has finally been approved for release after extensive testing to maintain the quality fans have come to expect in the line. To further insure authenticity, the original creator, Fuyuki Shinada, of the Biollante model used in the "Godzilla vs. Biollante" movie was brought on board to personally plan, sculpt, and approve this piece to create the most accurate articulated Biollante figure ever. Replicating her pulsating core just like the film, the chest area features a special light-up gimmick and light color band that be changed via control switch. S.H.MonsterArts Biollante's meticulous sculpt detail, massive proportion and thorough articulation at every neck joint allow for realistic portrayal of scenes from the movie. At an astounding 12", Biollante dwarfs even the mighty King Ghidorah, making her the largest foe Godzilla will ever tangle with.

That does look like the '89/'91 Godzilla coming. Assuming that Biollante is in scale. I was looking at Sakai's blog the other day and there were photos of the '64 Monsterarts sculpt before being articulated, I don't see joints on the '89 so my guess is they're coming out with one, but it's still in development and they're using the base sculpt for a stand in photo.

Watching Biollante recently, I've decided, it's a cool nemesis, more so when in the 2nd form, but, they rushed the fights, there's hardly and time in the overall movie of Godzilla and Biollante fighting.

That's my thinking as well. It's an unfinished figure they're teasing.

I remember watching the special features on the Biollante Blu. They wanted to have a more extensive battle using stop motion, but decided against it because they didn't like how it looked. The brief clip example they showed was pretty cool though. I kind of wish they went through with it.

I just read the details, I think that's the 12" Tamashi '89 Godzilla we've already seen, it says Biollante is 12", which is probably her height because she towered over Godzilla in the movie, so looking at the shot with G in it, that would make sense if it were the 12" Tamashi '89.

I do think it's cool that the sculpt was done in cooperating with a maquette sculptor from the original film, those details always make things cooler.
