Maybe they're still working on the figure and just don't want to show it off. There have been other Japanese products shown off so I can't imagine they're being made to hide it.

Could be. But I heard they still have not gotten approval to show in Japan from WB or Toho since the movie comes out two months later. Im more excited at this point to see if x-plus has a 30cm in line for him

I've kind of gotten the impression that the merchandising embargo has a much later date for Japan. Perhaps something that was decided on when contracts for the movie were signed. Maybe they want to give the US a run on merchandise first?

I think Toho probably knows they have dome great product coming out so they want to hype theirs up and let the average American companies be old news lol. The shadow of that figure already looks better than NECA.

Eh...I guess but in fairness we are comparing a 18-20 dollar figure to a 60-80 dollar figure. Pretty sure the NECA will look better than the eventual Bandai vinyl which will be around the same price.

Looking at the two the real difference looks to be in the tail, the SH tail looks better. Obviously I think at the end of the day the SH will be one of the best 2014's though, but at a cost. Which I will be paying lol


But if it looks significantly better than this:

His tail and spines look much better imo. But price asidei already know what to expect as for as the quality of detail between the two. As far as the bandai vinyl, the NECA may not look better at all. It nay look better than the American Bandai version but may not be better than the Japanese. Plus it won't have all those joint seams. And the stupid bendy tail that almost never comes out nice.

haha I've never owned a NECA figure, just basing it on the pics. Either way there is going to be no shortage of cool figures for collectors. I plan on getting them all, huge fan of this new design.

Im more of an old school fan so I'll be very picky with what I get of the new guy. Having said that, if I see NECA's on the shelf I'll pick it up until I see what the MonsterArts looks like. But im really looking forward to x-plus because you know they'll nail the look.

I'm curious to see how they handle hiding the joins on the legendary design.

Not a lot of anatomy to easily hide the joints.

If you guys want the NECA 12" head to tail Godzilla 2014, its on NECA's ebay site right now! I just bought one for 19 bucks plus USPS priority shipping. Should have it before next Friday, Godzilla day!
