Well, hot dang! Can't wait for the 2014 Monster-Arts but that was pretty much a given. Now I want a MUTO to go with him! Throw in Jet Jaguar and I'd faint from joy. When will Monster-Arts get around to making Gamera 3 figs? Can you imagine Gamera and Iris?

Man some of you guys are amazing painters. Nice work in here!

I've been working on my Jakks yet again. Really just trying to get his spikes spikier. Lol. Spikes getting better but I'm still torn on my paint. I don't like green so I lean towards dark grey. I want some highlights in there like you guys do but detailing without covering too much is tough.

Flash screws up the color but this is my attempt at dry brushing a light grey

I'm using acrylic. After a few coats it's given his "skin" a really cool texture. Looks more lifelike/lizard than the smooth plastic. This thing is fun to mess with (still have a stock one in the box)

I'm still not sure it I'm sticking with this paint job. I wish I was better at detailing.

What colors are you guys using on your jakks?

I like how he looks on the Jakks box. That's what I've even going for.

Btw there's already a variant on the Neca...
First release has no dry brushing on the figure except the belly portion in that tan color....

the newer ones have a very subtle green dry rushing on side and back areas...including the head arms legs, and tail...basically everywhere else, but not on the dorsal plates..brings out the detail pretty nicely tho

Like I mentioned, the quality of this figure is very nice, they definitely studied the hs monsterarts figures...and tried to do something comparable...not bad for a figure in the 20 dollar range...though their heisei G looks pretty bad...the texture isn't deep or jagged enough...

Looks great with the grey!

Very nice.

Found the Neca figure today. Its a decent little version. He's got a bunch of articulation, but due to the design its not very useful. This isn't going to be a kung fu fighting Godzilla I think. This is more of, oops, my thunder thighs tore down Las Vegas when I was just passing through Godzilla. The unbearable wait until the weekend continues.

would you be able to post the specs on the paint you used, brand and paint number or color?

I post it couple days ago.
I used Camouflage black color spray paint for base coat first,

then Brown, red, green and yellow acrylic paints(Tamiya brand)you can mix it to use.

Building excitement I guess. I don't know when the original reveal was scheduled but they mentioned trying to push it up, wonder if Friday's reveal is sooner or the original date.

They have a big collector base in the U.S. so I'm sure they want to cash in on movie hype.
