Really brings out the sculpt, you did a great job.

did you use a base coat for the whole thing and then use the other colors to do detailing? It looks like it's mostly brown with a bit of a rustic red for the detailing on the armor plating pieces like the chest and tips of the spines, where's the green at?

Okay,
I dry brushed directly on him without a base coat, then put a clear coat finish on him.
There is mostly brown on back and a little red mixed in. There are green and brown on his stomach and the bottom of the tail.

Also I'll custom paint on Jakks Godzilla, just flat black-water base coat(Don't use oil base on rubber-never dry) on him now.
WIP pics.

Used dremel tool for some textures on him.

Simply beautiful dry-brushing work my friend!!! I'd LOVE to see some pics of G in full sunlight. Was your clear coat dull, semi glossy, or glossy? Looks glossy.... like he's wet... which I suppose he would most often likely be. Thanks again for sharing your awesome work!

Thanks guys!
I did semi glossy clear coat on him but looks so shiny.
When I finished Giant G, I'll post some pics.

If you don't mind telling us what kind of paints you're using on the Jakks figure as well, that'd be great. :clap I'm planning on repainting mine (when I finally get the damn thing...) and I'm not sure what kind of paints to use - or if it needs to be primed first... or anything really. I'm kind of a noob at customizing, lol. :lol

I used Camouflage black color spray paint for base coat first,

then Brown, red, green and yellow acrylic paints(Tamiya brand)you can mix it to use.

Really seems to me that they've studies the hs monsterarts figures...G 2014 at least one joint in the tail has the same dumbbell ball joints as the monsterarts...and the figure seems very solid and heavy...much more durable than the alien and pred figures that's for sure....

Over the next 24 hours or so, I'm going to post some favorite G-pieces from my collection. Starting with the first three pieces I ever got - the Aurora kits my dad built for me in the 60's and 70's:

Here are the two pieces that got me and my wife back into collecting all things Gozi in the '90s - The Bandai Final Premium and the M1 Heisei bust (painted by your humble professor:)

Here's the nearly 13" tall West Kenji GMK prepainted figure that I got from Explosion Toys for $90:

A couple of rarer pieces - the Tsukuda G vs. Destroyah vinyl kits from 1995:

Both are about 11" tall. At one time, I had these on a nice diorama base, and they won "best in show" at the first AFFE. Unfortunately, the base did not survive my move in '99.

17" tall, pure vinyl badassery - the Kaiyodo '62:

Last three pieces for tonight - maybe not the most sought after pieces, but personal favorites. The Yutaka giant 12" vinyl banks:

Even Gamera is here with me, wishing BIG G a happy 60th birthday:
