I thought Shin was OK..

I agree with Jye that some of the CGI visuals were breathtaking. Film did an awsome job of making you feel the scale of the beast.

But man he was slow moving :lol

For Solo movies G54 is still my fav.

My fav Toho Godzilla period is the original Godzilla vs Mothra.. Lots of monster action in that one and the plot focuses on the monsters. Pretty great cast and even the dubbing is solid.

The original Godzilla vs Mothra is probably the closest Godzilla in a vs movie has come to being everything he was in Gojira, that incarnation was just evil, and I***ube's musical work over his scenes really help sell that.

I told you!!!

That's why I went on Tuesday. I saw that all my theaters were dropping GKOM from Dolby auditoriums for DP after only one week. But then you said you were going on Friday and I figured that New York must have just had more options, lol.

See jye, see??? I warned you on Tuesday! lol

Oh man I just returned from DP......ohhhh man!

The King lost his premium theaters for that FOR THAT! :gah:

I’m longing for my KOTM.

The screen next to my DP screen was playing KOTM my wife looked at me because she knew I was miserable and said don’t you dare leave us for Godzilla lol

At which point you secretly wish Godzilla's massive foot would come smashing through the screen to end your torment.

Oh man KOTM forecasted to drop 65-67% giving it only a 16 million 2nd weekend.

If Hellboy is the #1 flop of the year they’re saying this is # 2!

Just like with HB they’re predicting Godzilla will be pulled from theaters rather quickly so get your 2nd viewings in while you can.

Really sad to see this happen to such a great character.

Finished Shin. Didn't really care for it to be honest. Boy I'll never complain about boring human characters in G14 or GKOM after watching that, that's for sure, lol.

Yeah I don’t know if I could watch it again lol

Sorry Khev I have to respectfully disagree with you about Hellboy, it really did not deserve to fail. Nor does Godzilla, but we live in very strange times.

Sure it did they revealed their dirty production laundry to the public and it was made very clear the movie was doomed to fail from the start I can only imagine the egg on MM face after he trashed GDT.

MM can go hang out with Snyder now they both have something in common.

Hellboy who lol

I was judging the movie after watching it and wasn't aware of any production controversy. What happened? Did Mike Mignola really slag off Guillermo? Why would he do that? :(

MM trashed GDT after HB2 box office failure saying GDT no longer understood what HB was about and that the real dark cool HB is what fans really wanted and he was going to give it to them.

He sure did lol

GDT HB2 box office failure now looks like a huge success when compared to MM disastrous new movie.

Dang! I didn't know that. I'd heard that Mike wanted to make a movie closer to his source material, but not that he blamed Del Toro for the lack of success of Hellboy one and two. Hellboy's a hard sell to a general audience full stop, and much as I like Hellboy 2019 Neil Marshall is not on the same level as Del Toro.

Hellboy also got suicide squaded:lol there was allegedly some sort of power struggle between the director, the cinematographer and the producers. The producers came in, flexed their muscles and “corrected things”

Hellboy was trash...but it was the good kind of trash I like watching and it really did feel more like the comics but like Godzilla, Hellboy will always be niche and will never make the numbers the studio wants from it.

Big monsters and kaiju will always be in that “cult classic” status. Toho succeeded with Godzilla for so long because the movies were relatively cheap to make. Then along comes WB with $200 million dollars. They were foolish but bless their hearts.

Aquaman is the only billion dollar kaiju movie :lol
