Showa Ghidorah had pretty stumpy legs supporting a lot of mass. I get this design really capitalizes on not having a human in a costume, but I don’t think it defies physics any more than the original.

If anything, the 2019 legs at least muscular.

I don't have any problems with the legs. They are in line with what is usually conceptualized for a dragon. I think one thing that is throwing off the picture is how flailed to the sides the heads are. It gives it a very upside down pyramid look and somewhat unstable. It will be fine.

Love, love, love all the designs.

Neca should be revealing their versions soon. Godzilla has an all new sculpt from the ground up from what I last heard.

I wonder how accurate Tamashii's is considering their last G14 took some liberties -- although wasn't it that Yuji Sakai didn't have access to the 3D model and only the trailer to base his sculpt on at the time?

I collect a lot of dragons and I don't think that Ghidorah's legs are especially skinny here. We are certainly more accustomed to the heavier pillar Toho legs, but overall, the design is more slender. I'm hoping that as MaulFan said, due to articulation concerns, the area where the legs connect is actually a little more substantial. I'm not as concerned as it relates to this toy in particular, as I'll get the X-Plus if/when they make it, but I don't want it looking goofy for the movie. I am expecting it to be irrelevant though as Ghidorah and the other monsters will be continually shrouded in darkness, rain, mist, fog, clouds, huge amounts of fire and smoke, missile explosions, flying debris, fairy dust, chocolate sprinkles, etc.

:lol :lol :lol at your end statement

Yeah the upside down pyramid look is a little distracting there BUT stop and think about this for a second.

HOLY CRAP THAT’S GHIDORAH IN A BIG BUDGET HOLLYWOOD MOVIE!!!!!

New trailer next week, most likely they'll show all the monsters there.

The iconic Godzilla and Mothra themes will appear in the film too.

Just like with G14 and Shin this is in my top 6 most anticipated movie of 19.

Hopefully it’s compelling enough that it warrants repeat viewings which G14 failed at doing and please let it be better than that Kong garbage.

Actually with G14 I do revisit the battle scenes all 3 minutes of them lol

My hype is beyond words.

1. Never saw G14 in the theater.

2. The climax revolves around Fenway Park, my home state and one of my most favorite places to go ever.

3. All kaiju designs look amazing.

4. I***ube themes will be used.

5. Shows roars will be present.

The only thing that could make it better is a re-release of G14 in theaters so I can have that experience.

As someone who's into cryptozoology, I can tell you Ogopogo, lake champ creature and Bigfoot are all jealous of the attention these monsters are getting. :lol

I saw G14 on the biggest IMAX screen (26m x 20m) in the country, unfortunately the seats were small and uncomfortable. Second viewing was in normal and kicking myself for not catching it at my local IMAX instead which is much smaller but better seating plus you can actually see everything on screen without having to tilt your head too much.

This is one where I will see on the big screen regardless of reviews and tomato score. Tbh it's probably not going to get great reviews but that's not going to draw me away from investing heavily in all the figure merchandise.

Thanks for posting all those other pictures MaulFan. It's the forward lean of the upper torso throwing off that one shot. Looks great in my opinion. I love the shot from behind. Very majestic. And yes....... HOLY CRAP THAT’S GHIDORAH IN A BIG BUDGET HOLLYWOOD MOVIE!!!!!

Looks better than I could have hoped....

That Mothra has quite a bit of Muto in it....

I wonder about the connection?

Sent from the inside of a giant slug in outer space.....

G14 sits at 75% RT not bad for a Godziila movie.

Good catch.

Yeah but those 'stumpy' legs are also large enough to look like they could support the mass above.

The new Ghidorah's legs are muscular but skinny as a chicken, and each of his necks are bigger around than his legs. The sheer weight of the wings and all those heavy heads swinging around seems like it would require a very sturdy base.

A pair of really big legs would look cool actually.

Mmmmm.....exhibit A.

Winged creatures usually have hollow bones and this makes flight possible, and allows a massive body compared to the legs..

Although aesthetics are in the eye of the beholder..

OK, so Ghidorah is light as a feather with Balsa wood bones. Godzilla will crush!

Nah he has fishbones......and Ghidorah is made of Carbon fiber.

Loving all of these and I am in for all of them! I hope they keep Ghidorah under $200.00 or just a bit above.

During the panel, Dougherty noted, like Godzilla, the roars will be updated versions of the classic sounds, Rodan’s skin was designed to connect to and come off as something that could hold up to lava within a volcano, and Ghidorah is going to be portrayed with each head having a personality, the middle being the smartest, alpha, and the other 2 described as being like younger siblings. Mothra’s wings have eyes designed to be Godzilla eyes used for camouflage like butterflies do.

I love how some of the spine updates are exactly shaped like spines off the ‘54 suit.

I’m sorry but this is a million times better than the first design. It’s damn near perfect. The small tweaks brought it all together

I hope not. The trailer in comic shows the monsters like rodan fighting in day time but yea ghidorah and Godzilla and mothera were in dark places
