Showa Ghidorah had pretty stumpy legs supporting a lot of mass. I get this design really capitalizes on not having a human in a costume, but I don’t think it defies physics any more than the original.

If anything, the 2019 legs at least muscular.

This. Showa Ghidorah is like a powerlifter 10 or 20 years after their prime. Legendary Ghidorah does calisthenics on playground equipment and has a fitness channel on YouTube.

Digging all the designs..

Mothra looks like she is related to the Muto though.. Those hind legs look just like the male Mutos.


Godzilla has been improved in every way. Much more Godzilla like. Love Love LOVE the spines.

Rodan is perfect.

I dig the "dragon' look of Ghidorah and while the legs look a bit small they don't bother me if I think of Ghidorah as more of a dragon.

His tail may be shorter, but the main difference is the spines and feet. I’ve read about a plot point, this may not be his look for 100% of this movie.

Holy crap the classic song with the chanting playing over it while Godzilla was rising in slow motion was freaking epic!

That was literally the TOHO version of Duel of the Fates!

The problem with delivering 80, 70, 60, 50 or even 40% of mayhem is the cost of high quality CGI not just SyFy Sharknado or Shin Godzilla cgi we’re talking about here.

More screen time is good, but it’s also how they use it. Godzilla films are typically 2/3 humans, 1/3 monsters, if not less monster time. Godzilla has very little screen time in the original ‘54 but every second was used to the fullest. Godzilla 2014 limited his time and didn’t always make the most of it.

And 1/4 Godzilla since its his film.....

For me the design was pretty good to begin with but the Spines needed to be larger and the feet are a big improvement.

Making those changes improved him so much for me.

Perhaps "In every way" was a bit too much praise.

Hope his arms don't dangle all movie and would like to see some larger teeth.

Looking at your pic... A larger head would help a lot also.

The SHMA Godzilla head is horribly undersized because of the joints in the neck.
