Which ones and from which companies? I saw the SH Figuarts one and that looks pretty good. I don't own any Godzilla figures, but this might be my first.

It’s sold out here but I’ve seen som in hand pics and it looks pretty good. Teeth are a bit sloppy in one video I found. But paint apps look better than SH Monsterarts version

Godzilla from Minus One is officially the best monster of all time, period!

For decades we’ve been calling his attack “atomic breath” yet this is the first time in Godzilla history it literally is an atomic explosion!

Think about that for a second lol

Screw Barbenheimer give us Barbenjira.

While Shin’s attack was also very destructive I think we as humans connect more with an actual atomic explosion vs a purple laser strike from Shin.

Are any of the characters figure-worthy like Quint or Brody?

While they are not figure worthy this is the first Godzilla movie that I still remember their character names after the movie ended lol (other than Serizawa).

Now I know that can be funny but in reality that’s actually a very big deal that’s how endearing and realistic they were played, TOHO really did something special here.

Heck every red blooded American male is ready to go to Japan to find their Noriko and cute little Japanese child lol

They purposely kept the dialogue slow and seperated with no over speaking each other just to make sure that we connected with each character as if they were speaking english. The music helped us connect even more that was another tool in their arsenal that TOHO used effectively during the slower character dialogue scenes.

Shin had super fast snappy dialogue by design to show their government being paralyzed by committees but it made us not connect with anyone and it was a super pain in the *** to follow along and read lol

So sure definitely no character toys but that’s ok I don’t need action figures from many of my favorite movies.

I mean how is your Hot Toys Mrs. Kitner holding up lol

Wait for the inevitable atomic breath lit up spine version and hopefully they give him articulated spines that pull up just like in the movie that would be cool.

Man the Military vs Shin is still very epic he doesn’t even flinch and gives no ****.

I can’t get myself to dislike Shin especially with my favorite line of dialogue being “evacuate to underground arcades!”

But MO is an overall more fulfilling character driven movie, Shin just failed to connect with the mass audience simple as that.

I wonder if the new Minus One rebirth will now be Shin’s height

Well Godzilla has always been the message that war mongering is bad and really not about the human arrogance to freely use destructive weapons that many think it’s all about, which for sure will eventually lead to our undoing if fully deployed.

That’s a far better message than literally destroying a movie by hypocritically forcing agendas into the narrative.

Godzilla 54 had that message just 9 years after imperial Japan lead their society into nuclear catastrophe.

You know that many people think Japan is lecturing the USA about dropping the atomic bomb with the creation of the Godzilla character when in reality TOHO is calling out its own war mongering imperial dogma for leading them down that destructive path.

Oh yeah Godzilla is a message about self and not about blaming others for their horrific outcome due to war mongering.

USA had no choice BUT to use that weapon.

Now is the USA guilty of war mongering themselves since then….YUP!

There are many forms of bombs that are not explosive in nature.

Look at fentanyl, look at covid.

Bombs in their own way.

Keep forced social agendas out of scripts and we end up with your Die Hards and Minus Ones etc etc.

And no i’m not a hardcore Trumper that thinks he is a deity and savior of mankind and he can do no wrong far from it.

What I am is a rational person that doesn’t need others to think for me and ruin my damn entertainment, leave my escapism alone dammit!

And even though I liked Asoka, I thought many of his points about the show were spot on.

That message is not what CD and all his monkeys are talking about.

There's nothing inherently wrong with the messaging in She Hulk though, it could have been good and retained the same message if it'd had better writing. No issue with pro-women/LGBT/POC stories as long as the delivery is there. Thankfully though Bob Iger seems to have listened to the criticisms and has said that studios are no longer to prioritse messaging and instead priotise being good entertainment first and foremost.

The fact that CD just done a collab with Ben Shapiro tells me all I need to know about him as a person .

But anyway back on topic, big monster smash stuff good. How tf does this movie look so good with this budget? And why do MCU movies now look so bad with 15x the budget?!

And of course, pointing out all the blatantly forced and written agenda's and forced "message" inclusion in films today. He puts more thought, time, and explanations into his videos than EVERY major media outlet. And that in itself is just sad....

This movie, though I haven't seen it, seems to almost be a remake of the Original 1954 movie. Nothing about today's social issues crammed into it that I've read.

I highly doubt there is at least one scene with a gay/trans/gender neutral couple hugging, holding hands or kissing as their impending doom is about to play out (nothing wrong about that if it is a story driven scene). If this was an American movie you know damn well that that exact scene would be in there somewhere. NOT because the writers/directors felt it was needed or representative for the story, but because they would be forced to add it in for "representation". And no fictional characters that have been race/gender swapped. That's the difference. Pushing the "Message" so to speak. Rather than genuine good storytelling for the purpose of escapism.

Eh, the movie not having gay people or a social message is not why it worked, and it's kinda silly to see the anti-woke crowd now using this as some kind of example. But I will agree it was refreshing not to have a typical Hollywood blockbuster that feels overly workshopped and focus-grouped, and cast with a bunch of characters meant to appeal to every possible demographic so as to not offend anyone.

Watching She Hulk lecture Banner about how much harder her life is then his ( this is banner we are talking about) because… She is a woman. I mean do woman really worry about getting murdered at work if the give an opinion… I doubt it.

Plus attacking fans because you knew they would attack the show because you know your show is basically awful is a big cheat

I also can’t imagine the reaction if banner said something about “smashing” black Widow like she did about “Matt Murdock” it would have been yucky if he did and it’s yucky when she did it.

The message with woman power films and shows lately seems to be in order to be a strong female character you have to have all the bad traits of men and then act like men are the problem.

Well I’m not gonna get into all that.. I didn’t listen to the CD but if it’s because he’s with Ben Shapiro I can guarantee that’s better company than most of Disneys film and tv show staff.

It’s a slightly different origin story overall. Other then G coming to Tokyo and his overall premise, there really is not much related story wise.

The "Monsterverse" is so stupid. The MCU-ification of everything is genuinely the worst thing to happen to pop culture.

I'll stick with Peter Jacksons King Kong .
