Just saw this. Loved it for the most part. Music was bad. Story was so so. The CG was a tiny bit cartoony and some of the stuff was a little silly. I was a kid in the 60s and 70s so I can appreciate that a Godzilla movie isn't award winning stuff. To me this had what it needed to have to be very enjoyable. I thought the movements G and K made in their battles were quite realistic in nature, what you would expect from two wild animals. Will definitely go back for at least one more viewing, possibly in 3D this time and then maybe in IMAX if they ever have more than 1 viewing a day.

Eiza Gonzalez. Boy, talk about wasting an actress in a movie. IMO she's right up there with Ana de Armas, although your mileage may vary. As I recall, she was my pick for the new Catwoman. MEEEOWW.

I was so lost, I thought she was Serizawa's son's daughter. Didn't think she looked very Japanese, but I figured whatever and went with it.

MG worst villain ever he fought like a ninja gravity had no effect on him I guess lol

I absolutely prefer 14/KOTM over this turd.

KOTM at least had that super epic burning Godzilla moment and a cool giant stealth plane lol

The Tron Legacy soundtrack is 1,000x better than this one, I don't know how you could compare the two

Oh yeah Tron 2 is much better.... This just had some moments that reminded me of it.

Now mind you I saw this in a theater where the monsters and destruction were very loud so maybe i missed some of this awful soundtrack everyone is talking about. I didnt think it was that bad. Will focus more on it when I watch it again on Max.

I know that I like the Guys score for Mad Max FR (Another score that reminded me of Tron 2) and Alita.

I also thought this score seemed better then KOTM not counting the original themes from the Toho films.

I bought the score (I have the other two) so I will know soon enough.

While I liked burning Godzilla... I have to admit that mothra wings was kind of goofy and does not play as well with repeat viewings. Same with her using her energy yo save Godzilla... Yeah I know Rodan did that in Godzilla vs MG2 but I didnt like it then either.

No.. Give me 20 min of GvK action over 4 min of GvKG action any day.

Give me any of these characters over Ecoterrorism mom any day.

The film is such a mixed bag. Apart from Jia all the characters behave like cartoon characters, although the whole film feels like a live action cartoon.

All the G and K scenes are fantastic and the Hollow Earth stuff is great - would have liked to have spent more time there. Felt rushed.

I'm sure they could found a different way to reveal MechaG. The whole Madison side plot is just a series of exposition and deus ex machina events to get to him.

MG was dispatched way too fast there was no build up to him the story actually would have been much better had the rumors been true of MG having synthetic Godzilla skin over him.

So, after seeing this and recently watching Kong Skull Island again, I decided to rewatch King Kong 1976. I think it honestly has been like 35 years since I saw it. OMG is the movie bad. I couldn't even finish it. And it wasn't the effects that pulled me out. I can totally get by bad effects if the movie is well written. But it was just terrible.

I do agree with Godzilla vs Kong that MG was totally rushed. And while I absolutely detested Eleven's storyline

(and you could take it completely out and not change anything in the movie), it was kinda cool that it was an homage to Godzilla 2000. Just KINDA cool.

Lol this reminds me of the old transformers 1 talks. People hated the humans but loved everything else . Funny how that grew to become what it was.

I remember 07 transformers being a mixed bag for everyone. I feel like the GA loves it more than people who know the characters do

Technically, if it continues I believe it will be without WB. I don't know if WB is tied to Legendary's TV series moving forward, but Legendary primarily works with Universal now and had a parting with WB overall after 2014, only still working with WB on the MonsterVerse to date because that was the deal for these 4 movies.

I decided to rewatch King Kong 1976. OMG is the movie bad.

As it was in 1976. Terrible movie. They even lied in advertising that they had an animatronic Kong because of fascination with Jaws... that stiff statue that raised its arm like a crane in one long shot was the extent of their ''fully articulated robot'' Kong. I remember being a little kid and laughing at how bad that movie was.

People went to see it because Jessica Lange showed a *****.

I grew up on the '76, still my favorite of the traditional Kong stories, and the Rick Baker suit is my all time favorite Kong design. I love the Legendary Kong because it feels like a mix of '76 and '33.

I remember my young mind being blown away because I thought all the shots were the mechanical Kong at first... and slowly realising only the suspiciously stiff Kong on the pier was the animatronic...
But I did love the fight with the huge snake and obviously had a crush on Jessica Lange...
