Oh geez - hope this isn't yet ANOTHER Sideshow screw-up.

I cancelled their Tracker Pred when I saw how bad that turned out, then (based on that debacle) decided it was best cancelling the Falconer & Berserker as well. Then canned the AR Alien when I saw pics of that!

So crummy paintwork has already saved me about $1300 this year - but I'd rather have paid the money if the product was as "advertised" :slap

If my Gollum turns up looking as bad as the pics would suggest, it will go straight back - it looks like he's wearing tan pantyhose :gah:

(* thanks for posting the pics though - the first "in hand" shots I've seen *)

Got mine today. Sorry I don't have time to post pics. Too busy painting other awesomeness. I don't know if there will be drastic differences from one set to the other, but my upper bodies and legs match perfectly. I love the factory paint on my Gollum. The only way I'd be happier is if I repainted it myself, but I'm so satisfied with it that I don't feel the need. Even the rings look nice a metallic. Great piece. Beautiful display.

Good to know, congrats on the pickup.

Well, that wheezing sound is the sigh of relief, and the crunchy noises are me eating my words – a meal I am very happy to partake of.

My copy (#181 of 500) turned up an hour ago and it’s perfect – REALLY pleased (no pantyhose, stockings or garter belts in sight).

Humungous photo’s (taken in natural daylight) follow.

Thanks for sharing the pictures so far everyone! Can't wait for Tuesday, and it is interesting to see that jigsaw version of Gollum while he is in the packaging!

Just so you all know, when I receive mine, I'm going be a rebel and display Smeagol but use the Gollum nameplate. :cuckoo: :panic: :lol

Charge finally showed up today and the deposit was adjusted for, so no problems there.

I think part of the problem with my "pantyhose" Gollum is that I used the iPhone to take the photos and used the auto-enhance option in my silly little photo application on my computer, so...

He really doesn't look so bad in person, I mean very little difference to my eyes and I'm not sending him back, although it would probably only take a new set of legs to correct the non-situation as it were. I think my leg painter just got a bit carried away with the dirtiness of Gollum and went to town, because those new (many times better) images show a somewhat cleaner Gollum in the legs.

if you just need to return the legs, why not, should be replaced within a week, worse case scenario you may get a credit for keeping it.

Congrats and glad you're happy with him, stuff does get eccentuated in pics. Maybe get some self-tanner for him. ; P

Just got mine today, first piece I have received in awhile. A nice collector's shot in the arm; very happy with the overall presentation of the piece. My only small nit is that the base is really tall, I think you could achieve the same overall effect without it having to be THAT big; but that is really of no consequence unless shelf space is at a premium. I wouldn't have even thought about the supposed pantyhose if I didn't check this thread, I am very happy with the paint. :clap As was mentioned the rings really do look great; reminds me why I really prefer the 1/4 scale. :clap

:panic:

Not to mention that the pillar is quite heavy, but the base is a bit hollow! Imagine how many polystone trees they killed with this one!

1/4 scale rocks, the pieces have such presence :hi5:

While the maquette line has been really solid so far (even if most of the character choices don't interest me); for me it can't touch the 1/4 scale stuff - or even the now defunct LSB line.
