Got mine today. Sorry I don't have time to post pics. Too busy painting other awesomeness. I don't know if there will be drastic differences from one set to the other, but my upper bodies and legs match perfectly. I love the factory paint on my Gollum. The only way I'd be happier is if I repainted it myself, but I'm so satisfied with it that I don't feel the need. Even the rings look nice a metallic. Great piece. Beautiful display.
Charge finally showed up today and the deposit was adjusted for, so no problems there.
I think part of the problem with my "pantyhose" Gollum is that I used the iPhone to take the photos and used the auto-enhance option in my silly little photo application on my computer, so...
He really doesn't look so bad in person, I mean very little difference to my eyes and I'm not sending him back, although it would probably only take a new set of legs to correct the non-situation as it were. I think my leg painter just got a bit carried away with the dirtiness of Gollum and went to town, because those new (many times better) images show a somewhat cleaner Gollum in the legs.
Just so you all know, when I receive mine, I'm going be a rebel and display Smeagol but use the Gollum nameplate.
Just got mine today, first piece I have received in awhile. A nice collector's shot in the arm; very happy with the overall presentation of the piece. My only small nit is that the base is really tall, I think you could achieve the same overall effect without it having to be THAT big; but that is really of no consequence unless shelf space is at a premium. I wouldn't have even thought about the supposed pantyhose if I didn't check this thread, I am very happy with the paint. As was mentioned the rings really do look great; reminds me why I really prefer the 1/4 scale.
1/4 scale rocks, the pieces have such presence
