Yeah - that would have been cool.

What they DID do was a really good idea as well though, and I am very happy that they "went the extra mile".

Let's face it, we always find something else that could have been done to make it better in our eyes, so they can never truly win

Looks like this is about as universally lauded/accepted as it gets though.

Yeah mate that is exactly what they should have done! It wouldn't have been so much to ask, I feel kind of let down they couldn't be arsed doing it properly.

You should be pleased they gave you the option to display it at all, with exclusives they usually just supply you with the extra part and it's left rolling around in some cupboard. Be bloody grateful! You got a statue and a bust and all you can do is whinge?

Think what you're asking - an extra base and lower body. That's nearly a whole new statue! For the extra price it would have cost, just buy another Gollum PF!!!

You're kidding, right?. So you want 2 different statues for the price of 1. If they 'couldn't be arsed' then you wouldn't have got a second display option at all and would just get what you pay for, 1 statue, 1 display, no extras.
I doubt any company would give you 2 (full) pieces/statues for the price of 1 as an exclusive. Not just collectable companies, the only peeps I know that do 2 for 1 are supermarkets .
If you need/want to then simply buy 2 like others have, then you can display both.

Received mine yesterday. Great sculpt and paint! I love same Smeagol body as Gollum body, so I want buy another PF for display both at same time. I think is the best solution.

Sorry you guys - I thought I should get an extra pair of legs for my $300, even if I had to pay 15 or 20 bucks extra for them. Yes that is it, one 6" pair of skinny ass legs. I mean I am getting 1 and a half 12" figures on a pile of rocks already aren't I? Why can't I have 2?
Double dipping me to dropping $600 for something that could have been done as a courtesy to collectors for a fraction more is something I am unlikely to do. Leaving the legs off is like the courtesy shown to movie collectors by releasing the theatrical cuts on Bluray instead of the extended cuts.

Wow, so you're not happy that you bought a PF for a certain price and as a courtesy to collectors SS gave us an extra torso to switch the look of whether you wanted to display Gollum or Smeagol without increasing the price.
Instead, you want them to make a second full figure (and you mentioned base) for you, for free or for an extra $15/20.

Imo too many people in this hobby now have gotten to used to getting things for free (prints/switch outs/extra parts) and I think this post just goes to show that some will never be happy, no matter what extra's are given. They just want want want.
You get what you pay for. You bought a PF, you got a PF and an added bonus that no-one had to give you, I think most are grateful for that.

The 'entitled' complex at it's finest, ah well, there's no pleasing everyone I guess, each to their own.

Since Sideshow did make an extra base and it has a nameplate insert on it it just seems silly to me to not put legs on it.
But if you're happy with it, that's great.

I'm happy that I was intelligent enough not to order this piece because I didn't want it in my collection, extra display option and all. Better that than to buy it (knowing what it came with) and then complain that not enough freebies were given.

Anywho, moving on......

Sorry, but did anyone force you to buy the theatrical dvd's before the extended versions?
These were the films that were released in cinemas and won the oscars - OF COURSE they're going to release them aswell. Some people don't like the extended versions.

I must admit, the thought of SS giving us two complete statues for the price of one never really occurred to me...probably explains why I bought two.

And based on the photo's of SS and others I can't say I was 100% sold on the tall base initially, but I have to say now that I have mine in hand I really like it, and I do believe it adds a certain dramatic element to the overall composition that wouldn't be present otherwise.

I'm expecting mine on Wednesday, and will proudly display it with my other LOTR SSC PF figures and LSB busts and busts. I think it's a great looking statue! IMO! One have of the collection room is Superheros and the other half is Middle earth.. I sit in between...LOL!

I am kidding, but it really is amazing to see the Gollum and Smeagol statues together, and the display of the two compliment one another very nicely!
