Last week, I almost had a heart-attack because I thought I had missed the pre-order session. I was soooooo relieved when I found out that it was today.

Today, I left work without being noticed and orderd this beauty. I actually didn't care if I had gotten fired. All I wanted was my little Boromir. :monkey5

Yep, BOROMIR is still up. Plenty for everyone.

I would have liked SS to make this a little harder to get with a lower edition size -- more like Kit Fisto. But I guess with the detail on these guys and the work that goes into them they want as many out there as makes sense.

Lower edition size would have been nice. But I am glad I got him so now I am 3 for 3. I also ordered the regular edition of each figure for just in-case.

They should lift the 1 piece limit after the 1st day, if the piece doesn't sell-out. When they had the 2 piece limit I always doubled my order for the 12 inch figures. So I can open one, and keep one mint in box. I thought it was a common thing among collectors.

That's what I had in mind when I bought both the exclusive version and the regular.... display the regular and keep the exclusive in the box. Now, I just don't know. SOme exclusives are so nice that I really want to display them.

IMO, buying a regular is a waste if you are looking to display. The cloak is what makes it worth it for the fellowship members.

Yep - Thankfully I've got all the LOTR exclusives. I have missed most of the SW ones but the exclusives aren't as important to the look in that line for whatever reason (poncho aside).

I might have considered picking up an extra Boromir in order to give his Lorien cloak to Aragorn. No matter what they do from now on, it's going to bug me that some of the Fellowship have their Lorien cloaks and others don't....

Re: Got my Boromir!!! Not!

Boromir Exclusive still available Tuesday night... I have an Aragorn Exclusive on order but didn't order Legolas Excl. when I had ample chance...

After owning the Legolas Weta statue and also now the Legolas and Gimli on Arod, (also the Legolas bust) I didn't feel the need to be a completist with the 12". I've been debating Boromir, and he is quite dashing with his extras but I have the Weta Boromir. Aragorn/Strider I can justify as I don't have the statue and if the 12" is good-lookin' enough amongst all the polystone, that'll save me $700+ on the Strider Polystone.

So I guess what I'm sayin' is, there is hope for me, that I at present seem to be able to withstand collecting everything SSC/LOTR... After 110+ SSW pieces, I am out of space and I would have had to have stopped collecting about 50 pieces ago if I didn't have a friend who offered to take up my boxes!! Now I've reached his limit... hmmm, maybe I should find another friend...

And get a house... yeah, then I could consider getting more. Money? Pah! (ok that really is another consideration...)

Did someone say poncho?

Had to get it because it is a great figure with perfect accessories, although I am not fond of the orc head. The thing I am balking at is the price! Gosh, we are approaching medicom levels, it is getting to be like buying statues. I think it should remain in the $50 range.

I got my order in. Although I am not a huge LOTR fan, I find the quality of the 12 inch line incredible! I can't believe it takes so long for these to sell out.
Is it possible that collector's prefer statue's over action figures?

i guess there arn't that many lotr fans that are so crazy about collecting stuff compared to star wars.

many may just like the movie or the story and that's about it? i do feel that the no of lotr fans are definately quite a lot when the movies were still showing.

either that or many have not heard of sideshow yet?

80 left!
