GoW3 or Fallout3?

I didn't pick up Fallout 3 was because of the rampant freezing issues, and massive bugs on the PS3 version that were never addressed by Bethesda (the X-Box 360 version is more stable). Well, that, and for the fact that Fallout 3 is an action RPG - personally, I've never been interested in those types of games.

Both regular and GOTY editions of Fallout 3 go on sale quite a lot, and Amazon even had the GOTY Edition for $39.99 at one point. That said, I'd recommend waiting until Fallout 3 goes on sale again, before picking it up.

Also, seeing as how your interest level in God of War is at an all time low, I'd recommend staying away from it completely. In my opinion, it's an awesome game, but you have to get something that you're going to enjoy! :D

I've only played GoW1, just finished main quest off Fallout 3, and I would say two totally differently styled games.

If you like the action fast paced first person stuff, definitely GoW.

If you like a slightly slower paced, HUGE universe, open ended where your actions determine future events, then Fallout 3.

I really enjoyed Fallout3, and bought the expansions, but since I put it down after finishing the main quest, I can't seem to pick it back up. It will consume your life for a good month if you want to do everything in it.

I picked up Fallout 3 GOTY edition for about $14 today. It's very different from most of what I've played. I just got to Megaton, I had to quit just to relax. It can be really overwhelming of the sheer magnitude of the game.

Are tips or pointers before I embark on my full journey?

Fallout 3 was just too drab and depressing for me. Glad I played it, but was equally glad when it was over. Ending sucked, though.

Just finished GoW3 and it was a non-stop thrill ride all the way to the end. Yeah, it's short, but I wouldn't want to play a 20-hour GoW game.

Haven't played GoW yet but I say Fallout 3. 2nd best game of this generation. You'll be playing til next year it hooks you in and I hate RPGs.

Keep your eyes open for Vault Boy Bobblehead figurines scattered throughout the game. Each one grants you either an extra skill point or skill, separate from leveling up.

Here is the Fallout 3 Wikia page with the Bobblehead locations if you need it: https://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Vault_Boy_Bobblehead

If you are a perfectionist, it might help to save the bobble hunting till later, after level 20, so u can get perfect 10 in some skills

Cool. What in regards to karma and being viewed as good or evil. Is their a pay off for either or? Or should I just focus on playing it as I would.

Glad you picked FO3. I've played both - and though GoW3 is fun - you could rent it and finish it quickly. FO3 is just a damn good game all around.

I played as good. :) It's been a long time since I played this, so I can't remember what the pay offs are between good and evil. I'm going to have to play this again now that I've finished all my new games.

Dudes how the hell do you swim in this game? Everytime I get in the water to try to cross to rivet city I sink/....

Be sure your aiming marker is pointed above the water level and you won't sink. Basically, you move in the direction you're pointed, so if you're looking down when swimming, you'll dive.

Thanks for that. I'm getting my ass handed to me. Me melee is like the highest skill so I just try to sneak up on fools and beat them with my bat.

There was something else I was wondering but forget to ask...oh well...when I remember.

Took me awhile to get into it but I'm into it. Having fun wandering the wastelands with Dogmeat.

I wish the game explained things a bit more took me forever to figure out how to swim and how to hack properly.

So, a few days ago, I found out that I had $10 credit from Gamestop from since a few years ago. I used my credit today, and got a new copy of Fallout 3 for only $10. Action RPGs aren't really my thing, but I'm definitely going to give this game a try.
