I just can't figure on why they insist on doing with polystone what could just as easily be done in plastic. It seems the priorities are screwy. I fully understand the PF collector's desire to see their figures done up in poly, but there's not one 12" item I've seen that I wouldn't have been perfectly happy to have had done in plastic. Jabba's throne, the chess table, the idol pedastal and the Ark, and now a line-up of 12" scaled furniture. None of which HAS to be done in undurable poly.

Amen to that! If the tooling is an issue, do it up in vinyl or rotocast. I agree that the polystone is a bit overkill sometimes. While I wouldnt have wanted to hollowed out Jabba thrown, a durable somewhat solid base would have sufficed and been more durable as well. As a 1/6th collector, I enjoy the articulation above all else and therefore am constantly posing and re posing figures. Tip-toeing around the polystone is a bugger sometimes.

I'm not too familiar with pokystone. how fragile is it?

Polystone is not as forgiving as hard plastic. Every piece I own, Stone walls, Kruger's furnace, Trench environments etc has cracked, chipped, or has some broken element to it. I don't know know why SS continues with Polystone as the weight alone adds heavy cost to shipping, and you stand a good chance of having something break easily. God forbid it falls off the shelf. :horror

Great pics Josh thanks for sharing. Really cant wait for this one. Hope it ships before x-mas.

Just managed to snag one of these exclusives. I have to admit the entire pose on the command chair is what made these piece a must have for me. I think this is one case where the exclusive definitely makes the figure :joy

This guy isn't for me but there is no denying it's awesomeness in person. Really sharp piece, I ended up talking to Tom Gilliland ( I didn't know this right away) about it and he said this was basically a test for the Emperor's Throne. Cool dude. Also he said the Shocktroopers were actual production paint.

I ordered the exclusive but am not sure about keeping it. The chair is nice with Thrawn on it but I'm not sure its worth the cost especially since I have to pay tax and shipping on top of the cost. I'll hold on to it until shipping and then decide, if I go regular I'll go through an AD anyway.

ordered the exclusive- love the chair but cant disagree thats its expensive and i will probably look at each time and think - man that was expensive.
but love Thrawn - Zahn restarted star wars for me after the lull of the late 80s, so roll on mara

For such an expensive, "unpopular" character, the exclusive sure sold out fast :D

Pre-ordering costs nothing. Wait for the flood of cancellations when the 15-20 day shipping email starts hitting.

I agree whole-heartedly with CustomMikey regarding plastic vs polystone on some of these pieces. The only thing I can think of is that the molds themselves may be cheaper for polystone than for plastics.

Its a very cool piece, but not a character I'd invest money in. But glad to see a thrown environment, just waiting for the ROTJ Emperor version :rock

I am pretty pysched for this guy, his white uniform and blue skin will add a lot of pop to the lineup's appearance - too many brown Jedi robes right now. I ordered the throne version, I wonder when that will begin shipping?
