Thanks Darth Cruel

You put a broad smile on my face with those pics.

Can't wait to have him myself now.

@Darth Cruel:

Where did you order - directly from Sideshow?

Yes direct from SS they are only about 75 miles from me. I got on the waitlist about 6 weeks to two months ago and it converted a few weeks later.

I have to store him for now...so I took some pics of the packing as I was putting him away. I am really looking forward to getting some space so I can get my collection out of storage.

Freshly opened box. There is a piece of cardboard inside on each the top and bottom.

The cardboard removed sshows the Thrawn figure box and spacer insert.

Removing Thrawn and spacer discloses white box for the chair.

Standard figure box for thrawn...these are very nice boxes, but I like the ones that have so many accessories that they require two sides.

White box the chair comes in.

Styrofoam insert for the pieces of the chair.

Those are the best two things in the Star Wars cannon!!!

Just kidding!! I thought the Midichlorians where a stupid and lazy idea. I think he came up with them so he wouldn't have to try to explain Anakins father and it also dimistified the whole idea of the Force.

I don't mind the Yasalmiri though! Its also a pretty cool acessory for Thrawn. I wish they could be used to block Georges bad ideas.

the Midichlorians served as the science behind the force within the prequel trilogy. by the time of the OT, the science was forgotten... the force was a myth. propaganda served Palpatine well.

the Jedi Order had Midichlorians. Luke didn't have or need the science...

I don't get it. What are you trying to say here?

Brown shipping box...inside is a regular figure box with Thrawn and a solid white box with the chair inside of it encased in styrofoam. I'll pic that as well.

Base is 10 1/4" in diameter, the overall assembled height is about 11 1/2"

Great photos, Darth Cruel. Thanks for posting! Looks like a nice piece all around!

I can't wait to Thrawn now! I've got him on Flex pay so unless I can come up with a bunch of extra cash, I'll have to wait 3 more months :(

:lecture:lecture:lecture Looks like you were a victim of randomized quoting to validate a redundant point that we already know. :lol

LOL...I would say that you pretty much hit the nail on the head, there.

It looks not bad.
What's your overall impressions of the figure and the Throne?

I very, very much like the figure. The joints on mine are tight. The costume is not real thin as has been feared by a few. Great to have a new blaster style. I really like the red eyes contrasting against the blue skin. The head seems just a tiny bit large to me when I see it from certain angles...but I would have to be reaching pretty hard to find that to be a problem and the sculpt is great, to me. The boots might be just a little plasticy to me, but they have a little flexibility so I am good with them.

Overall...the figure definitely has an air of strict military leadership to me. I am quite content with it.

Also mean't to say, is it possible to pose the throne without the base?

Yes...it sits on the bottom pretty nicely...not perfectly, but not hard to work with at all.

Great photos, Darth Cruel. Thanks for posting! Looks like a nice piece all around!

Glad to do it. It has been a long time since I could share some early pics with the Freaks!

so im curious now to see if Sideshow will do Rukh the Noghri bodyguard?
It should be a given that with the release of the Emperor that the Royal Guard will be made at a future date as well.

Great looking piece, though I'm not familiar with the book I've liked the character from the Hasbro 1st EU line, I might get Thrawn later

Wow, I took a shot at putting myself on the wait list for the Ex at 6:30 PM. It converted at 7:19 PM.
