Re: green hulk dropping?

I was surprised to see this go for $510 also... Guess we'll see how much the current ones on eBay go for in a few days. But I'm thinkin Aug-Sept is a price dip in EVERY market, since lots of folks are preparing for "back to school" for themselves or their kids...

There were a few other recent sales in the low 600 range so perhaps there
is a trend - certainly much less than a month or two ago. Movie effect?

Re: green hulk dropping?

ps. which one is yours, so i don't have to ask you on ebay, and waste your time repling to messages, (like this one) hehe

Local pickup only + no Paypal (?) = Low price

(Yes I see that in the text he says he will ship it, but a lot of prospective buyers will never read through that part)

Yes, the price has taken a dip recently but I blame:

1) George Bush
2) fluoride
3) high gas prices
4) bad economy
5) cookie monster

I think the key point is he doesnt accept Paypal and that prospective foreign buyers tend to steer clear of this auction..hence the low price

Re: green hulk dropping?

now that i have a single greenie, i'm probably gonna sell the matching 48s. for some reason i could never bring myself to display them... not sure why

i'm new here, but how did you manage to get these 2 with matching numbers, can't see anyone lucky enough to get both from ssc. or did you order one, then find the other one later by chance on ebay, or something similiar? just curious.

i pm'd you about these
thanks

Same here, especially if it's in the $300-$400 range.

Ditto..... I'm sure that EVENTUALLY these pieces will go down in price. I experienced this market BOOM a couple years ago with some Star Wars items.... But the Marvel BOOM with be MUCH longer-lived with all the Marvel flicks coming out over the upcoming years

Marvel and Star Wars are too very different collectible animals, nothing Star Wars ever appreciates (vintage figures excluded)!

Marvel has historically been an almost 100% appreciable property for SS. Meanwhile I doubt they'll sell the first 250 of their SW Frames set.:lol Minimum of 4000.00 per set and an ES of 1977!!! If they had released it on April 1st I would have thought it was a joke for sure. Does anyone know anyone that has even remotely considered buying that? A beautiful set I'd love to own...but come on!:lol

Back to topic. Marvel items have shared their highs and lows, but at an above retail bottom line almost across the board with very few exceptions. SW does not have that distinction.

Its not the PP fees, although they are a lot, its because PP can rip you off with your money and you have no recourse. They are not a real financial institution and dont have the same rules and regs that a bank or credit card would have.

Why would anyone not want a paypal payment are the fees really that bad?

I usually figure loosing about 15% - 20% if listing on Ebay and using PP. The fees do cut into the bottom line and should be considered in final sale price

I think we are coming down off of a Marvel peak because of the IM and Hulk movies have come and gone, but it will return with new movies or any major news, along with what time of year. I think Ebay sales slow down some in the summer for some reason. But the thing is, even if I knew when peak of next wave will be, I couldn't bring myself to sell the Marvel stuff, even if I knew holding onto it it would be less in the future.
