Well..the 1:1 is just water.

Im selling these as KITS, so to have it suspended in clear acrylic...means..I have to assemble and paint the hugger.

Also, LEDS in the base? Again...Im not selling build ups.

You cant have it CHEAP and BUILT with Lights and Whistles.

Id like to use machined AL for some of the parts, but Ill do them in resin to keep the cost down. Maybe offer them as an upgrade for those with the budget for it.

No idea on price yet, but Ill keep it as reasonable as I can. The expensive part is the tube.

can you ball park a 1:1 kit price? i'm thinking about making my own.
i already have a built/painted halcyon facehugger, so i'd just need the rest.
some blueprints, or just detailed instructions would be cool.

1:1 without a hugger?
Probably about 1000 to 1200. Tube alone cost 500.
And thats ONLY if I buy 3 at a time. Otherwise its more.

Keep in mind my kit would include
Electrical
- Light
-switches
-cord
-light hardware
Brass tubing,
electrical connectors
Shrink wrap
Screw rods,
Nuts for Screw rods
Aluminum tubing
Control Box
Control Switches and Air Connector,
COntrol Box eyelet
Control Box Platform
PVC top and Bottom
Translucent bottom (already glued on)
Beveled Acrylic Lid.
Aluminum Traingle plates (top and bottom)
Aluminum Caps (top and bottom)
Black Acrylic bottom insert
Plastic strip for bottom detail

Detailed instructions? Probably the closest you will get is the Article I did for MODELERS RESOURCE. Make sure you find MY article, they did another one on a stasis tube that was horrendous. Otherwise, just follow the ON THE BENCH link on my web site.

these would look perfect set up with a custom bishop and maybe a table with him dissecting a facehugger. Some great photos could come out of this , count me in for a few if the price is right.

That would be a great choice for a dio! I'm thinking of the earlier scene when they first enter the medlab. Not only could you display two or more stasis tubes, you could also have Hicks, Drake and Ripley in the scene, too. You'd still need Frost and Burke for the complete scene, but with that many figures in a dio it should cut down on a lot of the background detail you'd have to make in terms of photographing them.

ahh. Well I dont want it cheap, I want it nice!

If you made a set with all the bells and whistles, Im talking nice paint, suspended in acrylic, aluminium base, LED lights,... I would pay a premium for it. $100-200 (or more). I'm positive others would as well. Maybe not the average Freak, but serious collectors will pay for it no question. You could easily make a profit! :naughty

A PREMIUM you say. Hmm, wel, thanks for the feedback. Ill be sure and consider that.

There is alot of work that would go into building painting and wiring.
Even though its a SMALL model, its still alot of work, in fact, because its so small some things would actually be more difficult. (airbrushing? cant do it.)

And...100-200 for completed ones,
and all of a sudden I Could have....10 orders? 20?

I wish I had the free time alone to do so. But, I have a family,...and other projects. Im lucky Ill have the time to cast the thing, much less BUILD and PAINT them for you. Producing Model kits is fun. Building and Painting 20 of the same thing.....not so much. However, Ill consider it.

appreciate the feedback.

thanks for the input Frank. count me in for one if you decide to go with it.

We should probably have a sign up list to see who is truly interested.

In the 100-200 dollar range, please post here if you are interested.

100-200 dollar range is for the premium-which Frank said he may not do.Dont go putting on a price for these when Frank hasnt even put on a price yet!Whatever is easiest for you Frank.I'll take a kit or completed.

Dude from the way i am reading it Frank was being a tad sarcastic when he said $100-200 was a premium price. I reckon this is prob gonna cost more.

Frank correct me if i'm wrong  Awesome work though.

Let me post pics of the kit...we can go from there.
Ill have pics of everything shortly. The tube is done, Im molding a hugger tonight than I think everyone should like.
