I was excited to hear Momoa might play him.

He wasn't that bad in 'The man with the iron fists' - IMO.

This movie is going to be amazing, I can just feel it. That and I am a bit of a GOTG mark.

Good acting pull for Bautista (Batista? How do you spell it?). He was pretty solid in Man with the Iron Fists. I also would've liked Momoa but I don't think Drax is going to be a big focus in Guardians of the Galaxy other than being the muscle and maybe discussing a little of his backstory hatred for Thanos.

We'll see!

They are, just rarely good ones, but that's the trade off for having a guy with a brutish frame. Hell, even Momoa's not that great unless he's playing a virtual mute on Game of Thrones.

Whereas all five films of Phase One came together in*The Avengers, Feige added that Guardians wouldn’t be as integral to The Avengers 2

It’s much more of a standalone film. It takes place in the same universe. And when we’ve been on the other side of that universe in other movies, you might see those characteristics in Guardians, but the Avengers are not involved with what’s happening out there at this time

This will hopefully be the beginning of the MCU
