Yeah they changed the team to include him after they announced the movie was announced. Starlord doesn't look like Starlod anymore, Drax has been changed to look more like Hulk, the costumes were changed to more Mass Effect look, they've messed the team about

They're doing to IM what they did to Wolverine including him in teams whether it makes sense or not

Iron Man is a fine character for Earth, but doesn't fit with the cosmic side of characters.

I understand Iron Man needs to be in here to tie it into the Marvel Universe. Hopefully its a small part.

I think they're doing this in hope IM's popularity will give this movie a push since its characters aren't as well known as other Marvel titles.

Michael Rooker joins cast as Yondu.

Rooker has been cast as one of the four founding superheroes of Guardians Of The Galaxy, the Marvel Studios pic that James Gunn is helming. He will play Yondu, who in Marvel lore was a game hunter of a primitive tribe native to Centauri IV, the first planet system to be colonized outside of the Sun’s solar system. He eventually bands together with fellow fugitives to form the superhero team. Chris Pratt already has been cast, and Disney plans an August 1, 2014 release date. Rooker, whose film credits include Mississippi Burning, Days of Thunder, JFK, Tombstone and Jumper, is repped by Kritzer Levine Wilkins Griffin Nilon Entertainment.

I read Cosmic from the 2008 revival onwards. Yondu wasn't featured
