Saw the footage today, it was awesome. Seemed to definitely have an element of humor to it. I'm not familiar with the comics, are they more on the humorous side? Sure felt that way.

Couldn't believe they actually had a couple of minutes of footage today!

Awesome, that's definitely the impression that I got. I don't know if they were pulling our leg, but they said that they had only been shooting for 10-14 days, yet they had 2+ minutes of what looked like finished footage.

Not mine, but here is a photo of the castmembers who were at the panel today:

I don't know I would prefer the current look in the comics but then that is more of a space suit were this could be his street look, didn't they say they were trying to go for a Han Solo look so I guess this would do it

EricVespe: Lots of execs try to blindly recreate what Marvel has built. Look at their willingness to hire off-beat filmmakers, not just their formula

And that's the case with Marvel for most of their past and current movies, especially for Guardians of the Galaxy.

I don't know the first thing about the GoG story or characters. But after seeing 2-3 minutes of footage yesterday, I can't wait to see it.

There is one scene where
Star Lord has been captured. He's behind a glass wall and two of his captors are talking about him (John C. Reilly being one of them). Reilly says "He calls himself STAR LORD". The other guy says "who calls him THAT?" Reilly says something like "well, just him".

All the while, Star Lord lifts up his left hand in an upwards-facing fist. He starts spinning his other hand as if he's turning some sort of imaginary crank. As he's turning that hand, the middle finger slowly comes up on his left hand until he's fully flipping both of them off.

Then he says something like "oops, sorry....I didn't know how this machine worked".

From what I'm reading on Twitter, GoG were in the newest episode of Ultimate Spiderman. Going to have to check that out.

Awesome!!

NOVA Corp. guards!

Geez now to think when DC ever does Green Lantern again, people are going to think they're ripping off the NOVA Corp. :lol
