Guillermo Del Toro departs “The Hobbit”

i hope peter jackson decides to direct the films himself. there is no one better to direct it. though del torro would have brought some fresh creativity to the project and its sad to see him go ,.

Thinking this through again, as disappointing as this is, it could not be as bad as first thought. Personally, I think Del Toro's best quality is his imagination, vision and creature designs. And when another director takes this on, we will still have Del Toro's vision for the project even though he's not there.

What a total bummer. I love Del Toro's style and thought he was a wonderful choice for The Hobbit. Although I loved Lord of the Rings, I found Peter Jackson's direction clunky and overdramatic. Sad to see Del Toro is out of the running.
