Hopefully big monster movies are back Pacific Rim next week and then Godzilla next year.

Godzilla and tmnt and spiderman are my must see movies of 2014. Tmnt may be bad tho but I have faith Godzilla will destroy the memory of the ****ty 1998 film.
Bring on comic con!!!

I'm seeing this in IMAX 3D, I'm not at all into 3D at all I've seen 3D films before and they are dark and less detailed it seems and I haven't enjoyed them. But I saw Man of Steel in IMAX 3D and it was amazing.

I have to see this in 3D to get the poster. If I don't like the 3D, i'll just see it later in 2D, if the flick is good.

What if its good in 3d and is loved by billions and surpasses avatar at the box office but you hate the movie and everyone on every board starts arguing about inflation and originality?

That would be funny to see again.

Except that Del Toro didn't make this movie so he can see some lousy format on the screen. Avatar sucks. Get over it.

Actually, I suggest you do the 3D... all of the CGI was natively rendered in 3D and it's the most spectacular 3D I've seen since Avatar.
GDT personally supervised all the conversion, it's like nothing you've seen before... believe me!

Hey Kuzeh, is this a film where I can take my 5-year old niece too? Would it be too scary for her? She really wants to go. :wave

GDT said this is a good movie for kids to enjoy.

I'd say yes... but be aware it's loud... monsters are a bit scary but since the robots are there, I think it makes it OK as they take care of them... It's definitely more kiddie friendly than any of the Nolan Bats or the new Supes... I'd say probably on par to Thor.

For those still skeptical about the post-converted 3D, the following are del Toro's recent quotes regarding the 3D version. And judging by some of the other 3D screening responses I have read, it seems the 3D is really done well.

"For action, adventure and genre cinema, I'm now a converted fan of 3D. I asked the studio (Legendary Pictures) for the complete control of the 3D. I asked them for 40 weeks or so to get the 3D conversion, it usually takes just 8 to 12 weeks, and they agreed. As I'm a complete control freak, we achieved a 3D conversion that I think people will be very happy with it. It's now my favorite format for the vision of this movie, but I don't think 3D is for every film. If you can watch Pacific Rim in 3D, make sure to watch it that way."

And his quotes from last year.

“What happened was, in the weeks and months following Comic-Con, what I asked from the studio was to agree to four points that I wanted to do. The more the ILM shots arrived, the more I realized that there were only a few shots that would miniaturize. I asked the studio, number one, that we would not hyper-stereo-lize the thing. That we would not force 3D on the beauty shots. That we would keep the giant dimensions. They agreed.”

“Number two, they agreed to something very unusual. Normally a conversion takes a few weeks. I asked to start it immediately so we could take the full 40 weeks to do the conversion. As an example, Titanic took about 50 weeks to convert. The final thing that I asked that they agreed to, which was amazing, was that I asked them to give me an extra budget, which is considerable, to actually have ILM composite the shots that are CG native 3D. We’re not giving elements. ILM is giving the composite in 3D from the get-go. That’s a huge, huge element. Now I’m going to be involved in supervising it. What can I tell you? I changed my mind."

I love Guillermo Del Toro so much. He seems like such an amazing person.
I seriously wish he made more movies and faster :lol the guy is such an amazing artist.
