All the recent comments of the people who have seen early screenings of this has me thinking anything but that. I'm hearing this is Del Toro unleashed, his unhinged vision of what a true sci fi epic should be, and it sounds glorious.

I agree all the comments seem to be really positive. I'm 99% sure it won't be a stinker but ya never know.

are you aware Del Toro GAVE AWAY The Hobbit to PJ?.... realize your own implications .... :monkey1

I'm glad he did. I never wanted him doing The Hobbit. :dance

Really Josh?... Haven't you watched any of Del Toro's films before?
Even at his worst, like Mimic, he still kicks-*** as a director. He's not a hack, this movie is NO STINKER... I think lots of people will be eating crow after it opens...

Of course I have. I've got both Hellboy 1 and 2 on Blu. I enjoy both films. I don't think he's a hack at all. It probably won't be and as I said earlier I'm 99% sure it won't be but until I see it for myself I won't know for sure.

The way you guys are reacting, I feel like I've been living in a cave. :rotfl

well the movie is in Spanish. So a lot of people have not watch it because of that. (What I mean is, it kind of goes under the radar because of the language)

I remember in College our professor asked if we wanted to watch a movie to do a paper on it, she wanted us to watch Pan's Labyrinth and 90% of the class complained that they did not wanted to read subtitles... All these "college students" missing out on this amazing movie, just because they had to read.... lol :lol

I watched The Raid the other day. I kept the cheesy English dub on because I was feeling lazy, but most of the time, I actually prefer the subtitles. It gives me more of a feeling that I'm appreciating the work as it was intended, even if I don't understand what's being said.

I've gone to look at showing times for this movie for when it comes out on Friday and its not even listed. This is bearing in mind that Cineworld is one of the countries biggest multiplexes and its not even listed. If the film does bomb I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Cineworld has Pacific Rim in the Coming Soon section. It's weird that they are highlighting Monsters University on their frontpage which is getting released late in UK and its release is also July 12, like Pacific Rim. And The Heat which is also getting a late release in UK (July 31) is still highlighted on the front page.

I wish studios would consider releasing all movies worldwide simultaneously.

That's what messed up with our youth ... No subtitles no B&W or slow paced films not done with modern tones. Stinks...at one time profs were not cowards and just said tuff! This is your assignment and that's it. It kills me inside hearing these stories. Everything it seems with the young crowd is about choice... Even at the freakin dinner table. ... It's teaching to spoil people IMHO ...non confrontational crap, everyone wins, it's ok, mediocrity is now acceptable

I Love this, Not a song from the movie but they use it in the trailer

Saw some reviews.

Basically said its a bombastic plethora of entertaining but mindless action akin to Avengers, Transformers and Battleship but with apparently better action.
