Is not even about Pacific Rim doing more than Grown ups 2. I can understand that not everyone likes robots. But to go to Grown Ups 2 like if it was an important event? Like going opening weekend? Makes me wonder, why?

Why do people ask questions with obvious answers? This is why.

A: Adam Sandler and Friends.
B: Light hearted Family film.
C: Sequel
D: A "comedy"
E: Plus various guest stars like Taylor Latner, famous to the teenage crowd.

It has a wide audience. People eat this crap up.

Haven't seen this yet, but just reading the reviews over at Rotten Tomatoes, I really don't get their rating system anymore, who decides what's a good or bad review? I mean read them, most are middling to negative, yet they have one as rotten, one as fresh. After their controversial MOS score I'm not sure what to make of the place anymore.. I mean how many of the reviews below are actually "good"??

So it's official Photobucket is now a piece of useless crap.

Just got back from seeing it. I liked it, but didn't love it. Sort of film I'd only bother seeing once. I think genre fans will like it, not sure about the general public. There was only about 10 people in the 6pm screening I went to.

What theatre did you attend? I attended Reading Cinemas at harbour town at both 10:00AM and 6:20PM and it was packed. :)

Saw it in 3D today and my god, I NEED to see this movie again and again and again. Absolutely amazing :yess:

Also loved the part when Newt explained the dinosaurs were the Precursors early attempts at Kaiju, does that make T-Rex Cat 0?
I thought he was meaning they tried to take the earth back then but the oxygen and other levels were too rich for the kaiju.. Not necessarily that the dinosaurs were kaiju, guess I have to go see it again lol

I really have no interest in this film, even though I love action adventure/scifi genres. To me, it just looks like a really bad B movie made by A movie people.

If it gets anywhere near $45 million I would be surprised to be honest...
It doesn't have the name recognition franchise movies have to draw crowds during opening weekend. With that said, I think word of mouth will be what helps the movie... we shall see...

I'm with you. I bet word of mouth will keep this one alive for the next few weeks.

I am afraid it will not do well this weekend because most of the people I have talked with feel it is a Transformers rip off. Too bad for them.

That can still be a good thing. The movie is giving us what we want.
Just big monsters and big robots going at it, and doing it in a way that has never been seen before, pushing the tech of today.

I Won't understand if Grown ups 2 makes more than this either.

I mean, isn't Pac Rim the definition of BIG SUMMER BLOCKBUSTER POPCORN movie? I would assume MOST people go the movies in the summer to see things like this???

Not Grown Ups 2, when you can wait for a rainy day or rent it in the fall.

With the weather being this nice, this time of year, if I'm going to spend my time INSIDE, in a dark theatre, it's going to be stuff like this.
That is WORTH seeing on the big screen. And meant for the big screen.

I just won't get it if people don't see it like this lol

:dunno
