I am definitely losing interest in 1/6 scale figures:horror Now that I have acquired a PF and three 1:1 scale busts and a polystone statue I have the fever for the bigger and better quality collectibles. :D I have a feeling that this is a natural progression. And I am liking it:lol I have spent a lot on my 1/6 figures(which you can see by clicking the My Collection link below in my sig.) and though they cool I just don't have the same feeling I get when I gaze on my higher end statues:monkey3 I am considering letting a magority of the 1/6th stuff go to get MORE of the higher end stuff. Anyone else at this crossroads  I probably will regret letting most of my 1/6th stuff go but I just keep thinking of the stuff I want and it don't feel that bad:lol

I went in the reverse direction, PF first, then started picking up some 1/6th. So far, I'm unimpressed with the 1/6th that I have, and will probably cancel most of them, with exception of Indy, Dead, and possibly IM (although those are close to getting the axe). Statues are just better.

Well, no. I collect predominantly 1/6, but I do have a couple statues from SS. I like the statues, but this overgrown man-boy needs his articulated toys.

If you're hocking your 1/6 stuff, I'm sure the members here will gladly take 'em off your hands.

Maybe it's the HT 1:6 figures that turned me off, mostly the Alien and Predator models, but they seem just as fragile as staues that statues are almost easier to deal with because you know where their limitations are.

Edit: Although I have yet to unbox my SS LOTR 1:6 figures, which I'm looking foward to.

I think both have their own respective slot. Some are better in 1:6 (Jason, Horror, Zombies) and some are better in statues (Marvel, LOTR PF's, etc.)

My CP is not fragile at all. I pose him all the time. The Aliens, are awful...or atleast the Aliens Alien is.

I dont think I could go past HT 1:6 scale....I dont like statues at all. Too...boring for me. I enjoy doing my own poses.

I also enjoy the lower class stuff. Both sides of collectibles suit me perfectly.

Different hobby altogethor. The premium format "figure" is nothing of the sort when it comes to the figure part. It is a statue. 1/6 scale figures are action figures...toys.

I do not collect statues. My interest is and ever shall be in action figures. So no, I do not believe statues is a natural progression from action figures and It doesn't have anything to do with age as I'm probably older then a great deal of the people on these forums.

Personally I don't see the appeal in something that I can not customize and is that heavy, that big and that expensive.

Just my opinions. :D

I like certain statues and PFs because often they can capture a dynamic pose that otherwise can't be achieved with a toy. And the world of 1/6 (as it is now) has come a long way in a few short years. The craftsmanship in 1/6 was nowhere as good then as it is now.

lol... this can be flipped any way. i dabble with everything. one could easily ask why people spend so much money on a 12" toy. no matter how you pose them, flip them, or paint them...they are nothing more than toys. the PF are high end collectibles that are for display only. busts are just awesome. and life size terminators / Predators are just cool ways to scare your neighbors/family/ kids.

sold off 98% of my figures already and can't be happier. no room for toys anymore just statues.

If you like playing with your figures and posing them = 1/6

If you like taking them out and setting them up on a shelf and dusting/once a week = statues

Me, Im a lazy bum. I unpackage it, look at it for 2 seconds and put them up on a shelf or in a glass case. Come back, admire them everyone once in awhile and walk away. I like statues. And even my few 1/6 figures (down to about 15 now) stay in a static pose forever.

It just depends if you're a hands on collector or hands off.

all my 1:6th figures are just mini statues. :lol you won't hear any peww...peww..sssshhh..aarrgghhh...around my place. much. :monkey3
I've thought about ending my 1:6th stuff but...nahhh..I still like em. :D

the majority of my collection consist of statues, i just got into figures. to tell you the truth i did'nt like figures at the biggining, but those HT TDK and IM figures look to awsome to pass them by. but i'll stick to collection statues and ounce in a while pick up a fig. or two.
