Han and Luke as Stormtroopers - SDCC '09

5 days later, and still waiting to hear back from SS regarding my Han & Luke set that needs to go back due to badly painted eyes; I suspect a lot of these must be shipping back due to similar reasons.

Got mine yesterday. No complaints about the paint job. Ankles are a bit loose on Luke. Overall I'm happy with these figures.

Got mine today. There were stains on the armor especially on the strap areas and on the chest piece of my Luke figure. In general, the joints on the bodies were good and the figures can be posed and stand on their own without the need for any support.

The 2 helmets were also okay although they can be better. Theere are stains on the 2 helmets but these were at the back portion and I believe I can remove them with some effort but first, I have got to figure out how to do so.

Overall, I am quite pleased with the 2 figures.

How did you contact them? I filled out their online form and heard back 3 days later. I sent them jpegs of the issues and promptly got an RMA # and UPS slip, and I sent it back on Thursday.

Their initial email was very specific about not following up after your first contact with them, but after 5 days I would be itchy too!

Yep, Luke is on the one that came with Indy, but it's really too short for Han. Perfect for Luke though. Here are two pictures, sans flash.

i'd consider just dealing with what i got..

but luke's box on his belt for the grap hook is not even included with mine.. so.. yeah.. not gonna just roll over for that since it is pretty much his one big accessory.

Yup, I need to get my hands on ANH Farmer Luke and Smuggler Han... again! Used to own both exclusives but had to sell em at the start of the year. The trooper disguise heads sculpts look great in that kitbash!

Since for the first time, concerning a Sideshow product, my local Sideshow distributor is not receiving this set. I had to register myself on the Wait List... for the first time. You guys having more experience, have any idea what are my chances?

Your waitlist will probably convert considering the number of people returning this item.
The catch is you are then likely to receive a "returned" set.

So make sure you conduct a thorough inspection of the figures and their accessories in the event your WL converts and you get the figures eventually.

I've been waiting eight days now.

I had an initial responce from an employee (not automated reply) but nadda since.

Gonna give it another couple of days then chase it up.

I suspect that with the low production run and great sculpts, these figures may be some of the hardest to get down the road...even with the quality control issues. If any of you are on the fence about keeping this set, I would keep that in mind.

I am going to try and find two prometheus bodies and create Han and Luke in their ANH outfits. I still need to find some clothing for ANH Luke and Han but I will throw on the Yavin Luke Ceremonial outfit and Bespin Han Solo outfit for starters. Maybe I can find some way to make a decent Yavin Luke. Maybe I will also try on the Hasbro ANH Luke and Han outfits just to see how they look.

I will try and take some pictures once I get a hold of a couple prometheus bodies (I am choosing promoetheus because I want the skin tone to match). Anyone have a couple spare prometheus bodies they no longer want?

Any of you guys heard from Sideshow about the replacements? I had sent my set back last week and it should have gotten to them today. So hopefully they'll ship out a replacement by tomorrow or Friday.

Have most people gotten their figures already, or are there still some that don't have theirs yet?

Zeiss, can't wait to see your kitbash. I think Memnoch's look great!

zeiss, the Pro will be too small for Han. Just go with a TrueType. Han's skin won't match a Pro either so no worries there

I'd sent them these pics along with a polite email asking for replacements. I even offered to destroy the two chest pieces and damaged helmet, but they don't seem bothered about them!

So looks like we'll be getting replacement parts as needed, hope everyone else who's waiting hears soon!

I was thinking about extending Han's height on the pro but if the skintone won't match then there isn't much of a point. Is the Han head too dark? Does the Luke head match the skintone of the pro?

Luke matches closely, Han just has this really odd skin tone. Doesn't exactly match either the Pro or the TT.
