Yeah, honestly, while funny, this BS about being tricked into ordering is absolutely ridiculous.

This thread :lol

So ordered! No wait.. what? Hmm maybe I will.. yes I ordered. Nope hang on should I? shouldn't I? Nope cancelled. Damn sold out why didn't I order? Hang on I'll get on the waiting list. Hmmm should I? shouldn't I? Phew on the waiting list... please convert
But I don't care if the waiting list doesn't convert cos im not 100% sure on this :dunno:
My wait list converted :yess: so glad I ordered this :hi5:
Now hurry up and ship :impatient:

Furniture stores run sales like that all the time, and with impunity. There's no proof that Sideshow was faking a sell out. It could have easily been NRD declines or voluntary cancellations made before the NRD was charged.

I think the world needs to get over itself. Caveat empor. Take some responsibility for actions taken in the effort to fulfill your desires, and stop calling out the rottweilers on companies when you fail to conduct yourself with restraint.

I understand that given the love for a good witchhunt which inspires so many moral-economic authoritarians, that may be too much to ask.

Maybe there were some NRD declines, but who in their right mind would be canceling this and thus losing a NRD so early in the game (sorry CBG)?

I could see that if it were at the time of shipping, but flex payments havent even started. Besides, then we should have an established ES if that were the case, as they gave a number that were left to PO. Why is it back to TBD then?

Oh oh ... You forgot the part where it is damaged when it gets there ... And waiting for a replacement because "This is the best piece EVER"... Lol

I have watched several pieces I liked sell out; either because I was being economically responsible or because I didn't NEED to have them. In the end a Low Quant warning is NOT a gun pointed at your head saying you HAVE to buy this statue. It is a heads up to let you know a piece is selling out. If you bought it it is because you WANTED to. Any other claims are are what you said North, ridiculous.

Where is the ES?

If they could have a count down on how many are left, then why is there a TBD amound today on the ES?

They know that doing this increases sales. Blame it on the poeple with no/poor self control (sorry CBG) all you want, but explain the lack of ES?

>>>SSAlex?

Is this a thing SSC does all the time? I thought it was a relatively new development, and they did it with the Hot Toys stuff..... so, any time they want to goose sales on anything, they just start screaming LOW QUANTITY?

....this tactic wont be effective long, if so.

Spidey: I have watched several pieces I liked sell out; either because I was being economically responsible or because I didn't NEED to have them. Of course it isnt a gun, but I have several times in the past regretted hesitating and then missing out on something I came very much to want later, if not at the present time. This is the dilemma we face: hesitating might mean losing out completely.

But then, there were all the people over in the HT Loki thread going "Naaaaaaah..... I am cancelling my preorder, this figure will be in the bargain bin six months from now, I will wait and pick him up half price." This was not helped by SSC screaming LOW QUANTITY seriously, at least ten times. Then here came the in-hand pix.... and people regretted the cancels. SURPRISE! He's sold out just about everywhere and now its "WHERE IS THE WAITLIST????"

[I have to say, this is not the classiest sales tactic SSC could possibly think up. It might be legal, but its not all that classy. In fact it seems quite deceptive.]

I am still mulling Harl over, especially since I still dont want the EX. If I miss her, I miss her.... still not really on-board with the sculpt, and the head still seems really small. But if I do that will all be on me. SSC is not going to bait me by crying "wolf!" every five minutes.

In the end whether it was a glitch of a change of heart on the ES on SSCs part people should buy what they want to buy. People agonize over these decisions when there should be TWO main factors: do you want it, and can you afford it. Answer yes to BOTH then you buy it, answer no to either then you don't. Once you get past the learning curve this isn't brain surgery.

Well we all know what patient, rational consumers most Americans are. I am sure this sound advice will be taken to heart.

1. Love the Character
2. Love the Statue
3. Be able to afford the Character
4. Buy the Character

Anything else and you should get into another hobby.

Great points. I will say that unless I can by the EX I will not buy it. If not for me having and having the 1/5 Harley on order. I could see me getting this.

BUT!!!! I only buy one PF a year. I bought my one for 2013. There is a rule in business. If you have 10 people to talk the place of one person. Then keep pricing it till you have less then 10. I know this will only cost SSC less then $40 to make and ship. I make something that cost less then .20 cents and sell them for $3.00 each. Its business.

In the end, if you like it, if you want it. Just buy it.
