I saw the first ep and thought it was okay. It feels like a soap opera meets I know what you did last summer :lol The cast is like the outcasts of Superatural. So many ppl on this show were on Supernatural :lol

Bobby Singer-plays the sheriff on Harper's Island
plays Bobby on Supernatural

Katie Cassidy-plays the rich girl on Harper's Island
played Ruby on Supernatural

and one of the fish guys played the sin Pride on Supernatural.

And the heavy set guy with the long sideburns played Ronald on Supernatural

I thought it was good, I'll definitely be watching the rest of it. It's been awhile since I've had a classic murder mystery so I hope it turns out pretty good.

Well the brother JD and Shane are definitely not the killers... way too obvious. Still have no clue who would though. I still like it so far. Wonder what the little girl's roll is going to be.

Unless they want you to think that and discard them from the suspect list...

The show is not really what I expected it to be, which I'll confess disappoints me. I was expecting a classic mystery where the wedding party would be the victims and the suspects. But since Islanders seem to be fair game it muddles things up a bit. It certainly draws into question what the motive is.

Not sure yet - the first murder was so elaborate I find it difficult to believe that whoever the murderer is, how they'll be able to make it plausible how the murder was set up. The characters are rather cliche too - the working glass guy and his upper glass girlfriend with the rich father who wants her to marry the wealthy cad. Harry Hamlin's character seemed interesting though...:banghead

My thoughts, as well.

I was hoping for better writing without the "there was a series of murders here 6 years before" backstory, but am trying to embrace the soap opera cheese factor. It's beautifully shot and looks good in HD, I just wish the show had a bit more kookiness and spirit (I've been re-watching Twin Peaks lately).

Harper's Island is being moved to the Saturday night slot, but CBS said they'll show all the remaining episodes. I hope so. NBC said the same thing about Kings and that was taken off the air after only one week on Saturday.

I just got caught up with the first 3 episodes. It's pretty enjoyable for the most part. I want to know why no one wonders what's happened to any of the people killed off so far.

They have... the groom got a text message from Hamlin's character (he was already dead)... they gave up on the cousin (under the boat)... and it hasn't been enough time for a couple of others. But remember, it's also a party with people coming and going, so it might take a while for some to be missed...

Damn, I'll never remember to watch it on Saturdays. Not that its a big loss, I've been pretty disappointed with this show. Seems too focused on shock than the mystery.

I can agree with the first two...

But you'd think someone would notice the priest or the girl with the dog were missing by now. Especially with the girl being part of the wedding party.

It's not really a big deal. I would just expect at least one person to notice.

Oops totally forgot about this. I hate it when shows change their days/times.

Man,I've missed the last 2 eps of this show. I can't remember it's on :lol

If you have a Netflix account and xbox, you can watch the new ep the day after it airs on tv that way....the netflix instant watching has it in HD, so it looks real sharp.

Don't understand how they choose which shows they have in the current season

CSI

Harper's Island

but survivor is not in the instant watching, so you have to actively look

It's on CBS.com too isn't it? That's how I watched the first episode. I may go back and watch this last one, but I'm not sure.

So last nights episode was good I thought. Looks like Wakefield is still alive... now people will think it is JD who messed with the light but I still think it is not him. I do not even think it is Wakefield doing all the killings now... would not be such a mystery now would it. I still think it is Jimmy.

Really good episode last week.

I wonder why Richard asked his daughter to lie. And what was the deal with J.D. and the scarface guy?
