I'm waiting until my cousin visits next weekend. Unless I can find someone to go with this weekend. :lol

I saw it this morning, and I have to say I enjoyed it, but the Prisoner of Azkaban still remains the best by far in the series. I would say the film was marred a little by long scenes of sitting around with nobody saying anything just so they fill out the time to make this part one of what could have been just one good movie. It kinda felt like I was watching the extended cut at the movie theaters, what with all the unnecessary scenes added in.
Still it's a good movie and you will enjoy it. I would not take very young children though, as there is a sex scene in it, though it's a very tame one, you will probably here little voices saying "What are they doing Mama". Plus there is a death scene that might upset small children too (It even made me feel a bit sad). So be warned.

Movie was pretty damn good. I will say it was the best executed movie of the series so far and acted. I still think 4 was my favorite but this movie rocked. I also enjoyed where they cut it off at. Great ending!

Yes 4 is my favorite too but i have to see this movie on thangsgiving week at some point so i'll see what is the best.

Yeah, movie was pretty great. Had a very good time seeing 5-7part 1 in the theater. Overall, the movie was great with good bits of action/suspense to help the movie along. The way it leaves off for part two is gonna make it a long wait till July.

I just saw it at 11:10am this morning and it was awesome. There was one scene that was a bit disturbing, when Harry & Ron destroyed the charm,if you saw it,you know what I mean.
I can't wait to see part 2 in the summer!

I have a question for those who saw the movie.

is the broom chase scene good ? long ? spectacular ?

it was my favorite part of the book.

Damn i keep hearing how epic that is i cant wait til next week.:gah:

I saw it at midnight last night. I didn't enjoy it. Order of the Phoenix is my favorite by far.

Anyways, I just felt that it could have been at least 30 minutes shorter and they could have cut out a lot of the waiting around. That is what killed it for me. I realize that in the books there is a lot more waiting around, but man, I just...blah!

Hopefully Deathly Hallows pt. 2 isn't boring. I want it to truly go out with a bang.

I am pissed we didn't get to see Mad-Eye Moody die. Just had to find out about it. I would have liked to have seen it, even though it would have been sad because I LOVED him!

You must have saw a different movie. It wasn't anyplace close to boring. It was much like LOTR in that it showed the journey these kids are going through to get to the end sequence.

I must say, I'm disappointed. I felt like we saw way too much of Harry, Ron, and Hermione (didn't think you could say that about main characters) and not enough of the rest of the cast. I got bored looking at the same faces while they camped throughout England for an hour and a half. The first 30 minutes were fairly good, but after that, I lost interest and patience with one of my most favorite franchises.

The good:
- "Obliviate," with Hermione wiping her parents' memories.
- Death Eater meeting at Malfoy Manor
- Elphias Doge/Aunt Muriel/Harry interaction
- Kreacher
- Bathilda Bagshot sequence
- Bellatrix Lestrange torturing Hermione
- Dobby's death

The bad:
- Completely altered Dursley sequence
- Sky Battle - everything seemed to happen off-screen, i.e. Mad Eye Moody's death
- Wedding scene (no Viktor Krum, despite being filmed)
- Too much camping
- Wormtail doesn't commit suicide, or die at all
- Underused Malfoys, shortened Malfoy Manor scene. All of Narcissa's book dialogue was given to Lucius or Bellatrix, Draco had only one or two lines as well.
