Hasbro 6" Black Series Star Wars line

I asked my local Forbidden Planet about whether they'd ever be getting series 2, since all they have is the first. They told me that they were supposed to be in their shipment from last week, but never turned up, and that two boxes from their shipment went missing. I guess someone really wanted them haha! But I was told they'd get them in next week or the week after. I definitely want to get in there and get a Han before they sell out.

I managed to pick up both a Boba and Han from a 'Smyths Toys' in the UK a couple of weeks ago. They had multiples of wave 1 & 2 on the pegs. If you have one near you it's worth checking out.

Nice but the next wave will be out in few months and that has the regular stormtrooper. So if you were going to custom the stormtrooper look I'd just wait for the regular version. If you got a good deal on those sand troopers and didn't have to pay $20 or more each, then I'd say more power to you.

But if you did pay full retail for each one, then I would say maybe you should have waited for the regular version.

However if you put the gear back on every one of them you can have a good bash to recreate the infamous Sandtrooper scene with the Solo figure

" Stop that ship..Blast them! " then i'd say it was worth it.

I wonder if Han will be numbered 9-12 or renumbered #5. I dont see a point in getting another Han or is he differnt?

I think the stormie turned out great. I'm not a helmet expert and not until the dawn of the internet did I ever notice the helmets changed. I like that they were bold enough to change the helmet and I think it looks good. It might not be perfect, but again, I'm not a helmet expert. This is far nicer looking than that original prototype. The only drawbacks I see are his neck is the same as the Sandtroopers. His head sits too high up without the pauldron and would look nicer lowered down. He still has a hole in his back to plug in the backpack. And the long gun he comes with is not screen accurate to anything a stormie used. Meh, I'll still be getting one!

Was able to get my hands of some of the upcoming 6" Black Stormtroopers from series 3 - Review is short and sweet....

If you like the Sandtrooper, you'll love the Stromies! Nuff said!

I'm afraid how difficult it will be to find these guys at retail...hope Hasbro will increase the casepacks. A casepack of just Stormtroopers would be nice!!!!

I was under the impression that the color difference was caused in photos by lighting/flash. Have you seen any in the store with the wrong colors? Mine looks fine.

Forget something so miniscule. Let's instead hope Hasbro comes to its senses and realizes how STUPID putting out a duplicate figure so soon in this line is. And Han Solo of all figures? Double pack the stormie or rerelease Boba Fett. They act like they want this line to fail....

Oh I've only seen pics online. Most stores haven't had the second wave. I did order Leia, a second Darth Maul, Boba Fett and Greedo today. I have my BBTS series 3 coming in January so I skipped on Han since I'll get him in there. Toys R Us has a buy one get one 40% off on star wars merchandise. I was lucky enough to have Boba fett while he was in stock. $50 for free shipping. I just hope my Leia doesn't have bad paint apps. I think the figure looks alright with decent paint apps.

Retail here in NZ is about $US33. No one would really buy those at that price here, so I can't see it doing too well for a solid round three locally. And they seem to be restricted to a couple per store. I got them for about $23 which is pretty good for me. Figured shiny's would be harder to get than the sandies if these took off and shiny's may not make it here. BBTS is already giving hints on that.

That's as far as I'll custom them. I like the 3A look

I think this figure turned out way better than initial photos showed! Not sure if the critism about the sculpt is justified. I think it's a pretty decent ESB Mark Hamill likeness at this scale just as the X-Wing Luke was a decent likeness of ANH Mark Hamill. He did look very different after the car accident. It looks bad with the X-Wing head in my opinion. I also like that they made the hair color less toylike and more realistic. I won't need to repaint it. This guy's eye paint is also NOT droopy. I don't get why he's complaining. Those paint apps look as perfect as a mass produced Hasbro figure is going to come. I'll be hunting for this and the stormie in the store to ensure I get good paint apps. I'm avoiding all things PT and have no use for a second Han so a case won't be necessary.

Paint apps are so all over, I saw one Sandie at TRU that looked like he had dried pop on him in spots the weathering was that think and dark and then parts of him looked Stormtrooperish

Thats why I've yet to PO any wave, I definitely like to scope them out before buying, although at the prices some people have been picking them up on Amazon I can definitely see the reasoning for doing it online as well.

Really strange how the paint applications are so hit and miss. My Darth Maul that I bought on Amazon is immaculate. Seriously, some of the cleanest, most precise paint work I've ever seen.

Yes it is... you can even see that the paint isn't lined up within the eyelids on the sculpt.

Those paint apps look as perfect as a mass produced Hasbro figure is going to come.

The X-Wing Luke right next to him shows that they can do better.

That pic above of Bespin Luke looks great, but it's also heavily shadowed.

The video? He looks like a forlorn puppy. I bet underneath those eyes, brows and crappy paint is a fantastic Luke sculpt. It's a real pity. I know Luke gets his *** handed to him in the fight at Cloud City, but why would you ruin a sculpt that has that potential with those paint masters?
