The release date has been changed to a vague "summer 2015". I'm guessing late summer.

Remember the R2D2 prototype that was so great? And everyone wondered why it was changed so drastically?

I was told that the figures require a certain amount of space around them in the packaging, and they resculpted and shrunk R2 just for that reason.

I hope Sadtrooper sticks...it's pretty accurate. Personally not a fan of the new uniforms......they may grow on me........down the line

At least the figure doesn't look as "fat" as the actual troopers are (at least the ones at Celebration I saw.)

I still think if they'd included teeth like the classic stormies have, the look would have been better and the duck bill wouldn't have been so noticeable.

Here's my review of the Han and Tauntaun set. I had the previous Vintage Collection Tauntaun, and I feel that one had more detail and articulation? Overall the set isn't too bad, but I really wish the large expanse of grey fur had some extra paint detailing to it.

Also, how are people posing their Hans on the tauntaun where he actually looks like he's sitting in the saddle? I just cant get mine to look right lol!!

Interesting comments. But yeah, that previous 3 3/4" Tauntaun, while a little overscale, is still pretty damn impressive.

Really looking forward to this piece but I see what you mean about the paint apps and the expanse of fur.

Very, very late to the party on the black pauldron sandie but just got mine from Amazon.

Other than the hugely oversized backpack (WTH? - it's like 20% too big and sits nearly an inch too high) what an awesome figure. I know there's been a lot of major misses, and have only got Biker, Stormie, white Boba and this figure (plus Jabba and the bike) but I'm really loving this line. As soon as I can get Bossk and Han stormie cheap enough, will grab those too.

I bailed on BS6" a while ago, and more recently gave up on following all the other Star Wars 6" offerings out there save a couple of cherry-picked items. The BS6" Sandtrooper is perplexing. While not perfect, it's damn good. Almost as if Hasbro nailed it by accident. I was set to jettison mine but they're just too good.

Improvements: the Revoltech stormtrooper's DLT-19 looks awesome compared to the sloppy sculpt on the Hasbro piece, and I'm waiting for the Bandai Sandtrooper model kit to see if those backpacks look better...scale looks closer and they look to be variable.

*edit: the Bandai DLT-19 will likely be just as good for a replacement rifle.

TO me it just feels like the stormtrooper design has changed just for the sake of changing!!! IMO to date, Stormtrooper is part of "pop culture" we can all agree to that. The clone troopers are not.
