To be fair, if someone really wish to jump through the hoops to get a SDCC EX Boba Fett/Han Carbonite set and wish to make like $100 on it, I do think it is fair.
I was there preview night. They do not allow people with Exhibitor's badge to line up. Only regular passes, and even I am within the first 10 feet when the line starts forming (and the pushing and crushing and the harassment by security etc), it still took me over an hour to get my items. My other buddy that gets in line later ended up stuck at the Hasbro booth for over 3 hours and by the time he gets out, Preview Night is almost over!
The regular days, people has to go upstairs to a different area to first line up for a ticket, then go back to line up at the booth. People without ticket cannot go to buy at the booth. A friend of mine who missed coming at Preview Night actually went up to try get a ticket at 7am, and he DID NOT get one. That is how crazy it is!! And mind you, they do not guarantee you will get what you want even you have a ticket. Basically, if you go there late and the allotment of that toy for the day is sold out, then you are just out of luck and please try again tomorrow!
They limit 1 per customer on Fett (and some other popular items like the GI Joe set and Metroplex) so one person can only get one! If he is going through hours of this and he wants to sell ONE figure to make a little money back, I think he deserves it. I think the aggravation and time spent is WAY MORE than $100 worth.
Also, mind you he does not get the whole total. EBAY and PAYPAL's charges are raping too....
Just my 2 cents, with first hand experience freshly coming back from Comic-Con!
