I got IG88 from Walmart yesterday. They had all the archive figures but that was the only one I felt really compelled to get. The oversprays are definitely nicer and more consistent. The wider stance on the legs means he can actually stand and pose! And the two-peg connection and remolded blaster look great. His head is still all kinds of weird and inaccurate in shape and size, but this is better at least.

Thanks so much. Yeah, it's a great collection. I have to say, I've been pretty much trained to wait for the bigger ticket items from TBS. I've gotten Luke's Speeder, Rey's Speeder, the Dewback and Enfys Nest's speeder all sub $30. Which honestly feels like a steal because they really are nicely done. But after paying full price for the First Order TIE Fighter and seeing it down to $60... it's hard to pay out right away for these.
Thanks for the comparison pics! Had no idea they retooled his blaster, and the paint and stance are definite improvements. I never got around to opening my boxed BS IG-88, and now I'm thinking I'll just open one these archive versions instead and leave the old one sealed. And I'll also still hope and pray for Bandai to release an IG-88 model kit lol
And yeah, I usually wait too, I think Enfy's Nest swoop was the only one I paid retail for (somehow I thought that one would be produced in lower numbers). I only paid $25 for the First Order Tie Fighter, what a steal!
I honestly dont think the RO and Solo lines tanked at retail at all. Sure there were a few figures that stuck around on the shelves, but we get that from all the initial waves. I remember X-Wing pilot Lukes, Slave Leias, R2s, etc.. sitting around on shelves forever too.
