My 'no'.. was in reference to your other examples.. & while not identical - sure.. the pic shows the similarities in the sculpts.

Did you not read my comment above the pic? I hate repeating myself. :lol

I read your initial comments and am responding to them.

It looks like a 6" version of the 2007 vintage figure. :lecture

There you go! :lol

I can't believe that. It's virtually identical.

But I should just respond to this one.

The sculpts are very similar - if you don't think so - cool! :)

Agree to disagree :1-1:

Anyways, I just got excited how easy it'd be to make Luke and Han in Stormtrooper armor. These heads are ball joints and pop off. I won't buy multiples of each figure to make it a permanent display, but I will have fun with them that way. Two Stormies will be a must. Good thing I'm passing on PT characters!

Also, I just thought of swapping out an inevitable Jedi Luke head with the X-Wing pilot body and giving him the green lightsaber to make a unique variant look for the guy. They've NEVER given X-Wing Luke a green saber in the 3 3/4" line, have they?

Amazon says Series 1 will be released August 1st. I'll be at Disney that week. Perhaps I could pick up a Luke XW, R2 and a Sandy at the Star Tours gift shop if they have them. I would assume they would carry these when they release since Hasbro is hyping them up as the next best thing since canned beer.

Hasbro's store says it'll be the 27. They've already been spotted in Canada and the southwest so who knows what the real date is. I've already scored out local TRUs and Wal- Marts and can predict which will get them sooner based on their current stock.

Took my SDCC Fett out of the box and played with him for a bit.

Overall, articulation is really good! Can achieve a lot of very cool poses. Only issue is the 2 big pouch out the belt is in the way of the hip joint so having him in a crouching position is a bit tough. Shoulder joints get a good range that can have the arms squeeze very tight to the body as well as raise up high. Highlight has to be the neck ball joint that allows him to look up and down.

If most figures can keep up with such articulation, I think this would be a fun line to play with! Looking forward to getting the other figures in the series!

Anticipation is killing me. I ordered a Luke for $30. I thought that was a fair price and it will save me gas as I won't travel looking hoping to find these earlier than their release date.

Duuude, has anyone seen what the SDCC Boba and Han are going for on ebay? It's ridiculous.

I want him but I ain't paying that.

Yeah, that Bespin Luke looks atrocious. The VC version looks better. I swear the best Hamill likeness they've done so far is the Snowspeeder Luke( can't remember what series but I have it. Legacy maybe?)

Anyway, I think I'll be sticking to my original plan which was to buy only ANH core characters and stormtroopers of the '6 inch line. So I'll pick up that **** R2 and series 2 Han.

Fantastic pics! Nice to see someone that actually takes some time to pose their figures post some pics of this guy finally! Wish I could have scored the SDCC set, sooo looking forward to the individual release!

Now that you mention it...

..Ok, I'm done lol.
My absolute fave SW figure as a kid - kinda still is! :rock

I see zero similarities between the sculpts, none of the folds in the clothes are the same.
I'm not saying that somebody xeroxed the 2007 4" VC figure & made it bigger.. :lol

There certainly are similarities however, in the overall look of both figures though; proportions, sculpting etc.

If you don't agree - I'm baffled.. but fair enough. :duff

He looks great. I'm definitely picking up two. At first I found the different helmet sculpt off putting, but I think they were striving for the "hero helmet" whereas the Sandtrooper has the "stunt helmet."

Any truth to that? I am not an armor aficionado.

The tubing were the aerators are stick out so much it has a duck type feel for me. The lenses don't look bubbled but forum the angle, I can't tell if they lowered the brow or not. I don't see too many hero vs stunt differences yet but we will have to wait and see.
